every instrument is a world and has it's own tricks, just practice all the time you can! it'll worth it, when I started if felt the same way, and my dad told me: when george harrison started playing he sucked, he practiced until his fingers literrally bleed.. that kept me going, so hope it'll do for you too, good luck from buenos aires :)
Don't ever think bass is easy because it has less strings or is less popular. I say, start with an acoustic. Get comfortable with the techniques, fiddle with the electric and then try the bass. Good luck.
Ok.. so a question for musicians out there.. Im a very beginner at playing guitar.. and to be honest. im not very good.. would i have better luck learning bass??? just curious how much difference there is..
Almost any instrument is hard to play well. The thing with bass is, it won't be so obvious if you suck at it. Actually, few bands have good bass players (STP was/is one of them, has any of you seen Duff trying desperately to play a STP song?)
i play both and i can tell u this. there is no difference in the dificulty, they are both hard. the key is practice everyday at least half hour man just half hour well concentrated. try to make the instrument sound cool use your ear dude. just try to make it sound well. sorry for my english.

Actually, bass is a tad less complex. But, your fingers would still have to be very skilled.
