Was this epoxy an anti rust formula? Typically, epoxy primer needs to be applied to bare metal. I’m curious to know what epoxy coating was chosen and how it killed the rust underneath, like other anti rust primers.
I'd have sprayed the whole underside with some sort of phosperic acid rust remover prior to painting. Sure, it's a whole other step and will take longer, but will make a much better job of keeping the rust back in the long run.
A good mate of mine glass media blasted mine underneath the full chassis where we could axles and the body underside to the bare metal then rust treatment even though there wasn’t any where the steel was pitted then we two pack epoxy primer it then we epoxy satin blacked the lot it was a ball ach but now it will last forever going to go over it all with wax oil and all the cavity’s it looks new underneath now.
varies so much by condition of the vehicle I've asked a few companies about having my 120 series done and been quoted anywhere from £700 upto £1600 "depending on condition underneath"
@@stuartowen6794 thanks. That was the only slightly irritating point in the vid. “The Cost” = depends. Well, yeah, but a general idea would have been nice. I was expected around a grand

You need a rust converter like phosphoric acid or tannic acid prior to coating it

The whole undercarriage shouldve been disassembled, sandblasted and painted that is the proper way of doing it.
