One of my earliest blockbuster rentals ever! Core memories unlocked! 🎉
Like most ps1 games around that time, my copy of Syphon Filter had the name of the game written in Sharpie on the disk 😜. Because it didn't come with a manual, it took me three days to get out of the subway as I didn't know you could jump and grab onto the fallen concrete!

To be honest there were a lot of parts that caught me out and I had the manual. In the subway again, the gas mains took me ages to find 😅
I remember growing up in rural US and playing syphon filter and metal gear solid, Very happy to hear metal gear especially has huge fanbase in UK! This brought back some great memories!
Some third person games did the lock on-furst person aiming but SF was the first to make it work. Along w/a good plot, characters, fun voice acting, and great music it holds up if you can wrap your brain around how shooters controlled pre-dual analog. Even better are the two sequels making a nice PS1 trilogy to go back to.
Such a classic. The series is still going strong on discord these days, hope they re-release SF4 someday.
I have so much trouble returning to PS1 era games, but that's not to say I didnt have aome great gaming memories with it. Tenchu! MGS! Even Armageddon. 😂 And yes, Syphon Filter.

One of my favs! The level design especially is phenomenal. So sad that the stealth in Days Gone was so janky and broken. ='( I thought I wanted a new Syphon Filter from Bend but now I think maybe not haha
Such a great game, and it stands up well today, even with the tank controls!
Days Gone is a cool and interesting one, but it's definitely not Syphon Filter quality for me
