The Price is Right - Double Showcase Winner Compilation (2019 edit)

- Since we've had quite the drought in double showcase winners lately I've gone and updated my DSW compilation video with the newest and newly discovered videos. Enjoy!
The ones where it's just a pic, the first one is from 1975, second from late eighties, third 1989 and fourth 1990. That's as much information I have.
You look at some of these differences I'm the BB era...those single digit DSWs...those folks were either unbelievably good at pricing or unbelievably lucky
When I first heard the 'WHOOP, WHOOP, WHOOOP' sound effects as a child, I used to run and hide in sheer terror because I imagined I was being chased by runaway heavy equipment 😵.
After watching other game shows at 10 years old, I finally understood why The Price Is Right has its signature 'WHOOP, WHOOP, WHOOOP' sound effects, and became a big fan of The Price Is Right ever since.😀📺

THIS IS THE GREATEST THING IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET AND OF THE UNIVERSE
YOU WIN BOTH SHOWCASES
I wish Drew was as enthusiastic as Bob.
Drew sucks. 😕
My favorite was the 35th season premiere. $147,517 in prizes won.
it's cool to see how the podiums and set evolved from the 70's til it's current look.
"You win both showcases...until you find out how much in taxes you will have to pay"
California sales taxes...
"you win both showcases"
-Bob
This quote will never been forgotten
We had a former employee who went with her fellow nursing students and she ended up winning both showcases. She came by our shop and loaned us the VHS that was given to them to rewatch the show. This was around 2000-2001. Her name was Sonia, and I've never seen it online anywhere, even though I did watch it on her copy.
"Help control the pet-population have your pets spayed or neutered" bob-barker.
0:08 - I thought the damn guy was gonna cry or something
This gives me the chills! I’m glad I happened to come across this today. So many good memories growing up watching this show.
I can’t believe it! Every single contestant won both showcases for so many years in this montage as Bob would say “You win both showcases” and “You win them both”. Those were his famous lines.
Thanks for this compilation video. I am so happy to say I am featured in this elite club. Talk about a dream come true!
Congrats on your big win Joni! It was very exciting to watch! :)
What year was your Joni?
It's crazy that the DSW graphic has barely ever been updated since Drew took over.
The drought recently ended; the 48th season premiere just recently started with a Double Showcase win...and a new graphic to boot!!!
Can't make this stuff up- when a contestant wins every prize on stage by winning both showcases on The Price is Right, that's the most exciting moment on that show!!!
Bob Barker: “You win both showcases!”
Drew Carey: “Double showcase winner!”
Now I just wish that the DSW dry spell would end!
THere were two years in Barker's era with only one DSW total. WOF just went a month without a bonus round win.
This video gave me hope that S48 will have DSWs, cuz S47 won't :'(
We've been close though several times and it still might be possible near the end of this season, but if not hopefully they increase the range next season (and also for inflation).
We have 3 DSW now
You win both showcases 😎 on repeat😜
Who would have thought, a sound like that gives people goosebumps!
Some of these have not been posted as full segment wins on your channel yet.
shocked the two million dollar DSWs weren't in this list. Especially the first one which broke the franchise record held by the Australian TPIR with their $600,000 Mega Showcase win
The stunned reactions were the best. They were legit "this can't be happening to me" expressions. Priceless!
This is akin to the game winning buzzer beater in a basketball game. Especially in a championship game.
Can I see the whole clip shown in 0:39 - 0:42 ?
ua-cam.com/video/3M_Ldii5RGI/v-deo.html
The sad part is when the other contestant goes over before the winner gets both showcases
The clip at 3:15, I believe the other contestant bid $1 because he thought the other guy had gone way over!
Naw he just underbid by that much on an almost $40K Showcase.
So, the total number of Double Showcase Winners on TPIR during Bob Barker's run is 86? I count 59 during Drew Carey's time so far.
I feel like it'd be more than that, but some we might not have seen yet or aren't online, I could be wrong though. Remember too, GSN only aired a certain segment of non fur shows mostly from 74-82 (or when they'd have had this rule in effect) and not all that were cut are on here in OB/Studio Masters. So the number could be higher than what is seen here for all we know, assuming you were counting them, I didn't lol.
There are lots more not accounted for. The ones in this video are the ones I was able to find. I believe they hit 100 DSWs sometime in Season 32. You can also go to dswdatabase.proboards.com/ where you can view other documented but incomplete DSW stats.
"You won both showcases timeless-tv".
I want to be on the price is right and win both showcases and I love that sound too
I love that contestants who won the showcase
Drink every time he says “you win both showcases”
@@Mr.JohnCruz-st7is of course not
You forgot the two prime time $1 million spectacular episodes from 2008 when both contestants bid closer with differences of under $1,000 and $500 and won $1 million!
I've added them in on my Archive page.
@@JonesDylan874 sweet!
1:11 is Feb. 17, 1987
you win both showcases
Double showcase winnings are so exciting!
Does anyone here think that inflation may be playing a role in the DSW drought we've been having???
It is possible. Just look at how much trips are worth now.
04:15
Play those whoops and clangs!!
Here's my take on the Double Showcase Winner + the DSW jackpot:
You not only won your own Showcase, you won BOTH SHOWCASES & the mandatory jackpot! (minimum $50,000+ $2000 per weekday & $5000 per weekend day not won; or in the case of the season 48 opener, $1,000,000) in cash!
At the end of the season, the Double Showcase Winner will definitely be guaranteed & there will be no more overbids in this instance. The season will end with a guaranteed Double Showcase Winner & a $100,000 jackpot.
is this drew, i cannot tell 6:00
Yep.
@@JonesDylan874 lol looks so young
I wonder which contestant went the craziest when he/she found out he/she won both showcases in the end
Timothy's reaction from S46 killed me.
Make the next DSW limit $500 😂 then the drought spell will end... next season
i hate to say this, but then there would be too many double showcase wins.
I'm in favor of raising the limit to 500 because even winning it is impossible even if you have it at 250 or 500 plus people suck at bidding
I thinks if worth DREAM CAR SHOWCASE in DREAM CAR WEEK, needs special DSW range to $1,000.
DSW's are supposed to be tough. There's no excitement to them if everyone's getting it.
I think that should be the new limit, especially because the prices are increasing.
Congratulations everyone you have won both showcases Hee Hee Hee I need to be on the price is right
There's also a DSW win on October 30, 1984, please add that, too, on your 2021 Showcase Montage, including Ramona (from 1991)?! Thank you! :)
I don't have enough new DSW clips to update the video quite yet and I don't have any footage of Ramona's DSW.
That word ‘both’ sounds so weird now lol
I bet they weren’t screaming when they saw what the taxes on everything was and probably had to forfeit certain prizes
Fluttershy: Yay!!!!
5:05 dude is salty AF

Looks like some winners couldn't do the math.
You in boat show cases
Surprised you didn't include the Million dollar winners
Oops. Maybe I'll remember for the next edit :P
@@trailblazer91 Actually, I've updated this compilation on my Archive page. It also includes the Million Dollar DSWs.
@@JonesDylan874 I just had a look at it. Very nice job! And thank you for giving me credit as well much appreciated :)
@@trailblazer91 No problem!

Unbelievable
Gwardmd111 posted a DSW from circa 1991 on his page
which one is your favorite + the year
Drew give people on the price is right in 2010s give a chance to be under $250! But bob does $100 In the 1972-1999
Longer than that......wasn't till 1999 that it changed.
Hi I’m like to going be on the show of the price is right
Fun.
Wow
Do you have any TPIR episodes coming soon
Where did you get the pics from
Mostly through digging on the internet.
1:05 What airdate?
I noticed that they didn't show the guy who hit it exact.
No, they did. You must've skipped that part. At 4:14.
Do you still have the same email address you gave me two months ago?
I do yes
I emailed you on March 19th and May 7th; just letting you know that.
I have a family member who was a DSW in 1979 or 1980 and I can't seem to find the footage anywhere. Is there a way to find the archive footage?
If you or your family member can come up with an airdate or an approximate airdate or even pricing games that were played that day it can narrow things down. If their episode isn't in circulation i.e. GSN never reran it or it was never recorded first run the likelyhood of it being out there is very low. A last resort option could be contacting the company that manages TPIR, Fremantle, and inquire about acquiring a copy of the episode.
@@trailblazer91 I think it was October 31,1979 or October 31, 1980. That's when her daughter remembers it airing but cant remember what year. I know some of the things that were in her DS, but is that searchable for you?
@@kateragon7566 I personally don't have either airdate in my collection but I have some people I can ask about it.
Only one can hope that this drought ends given that showcases now do not cost less than $20,000 anymore. Having said, I think it's time for a raise to $500 or less (or at least $400) for next season or when the time comes.
There's no need for a raise. Don't overreact to one bad season. Last season, there were 8. I believe season 40 only had 3, but the following season had about 11.
@@robertlunderwoodThere were 10 in Season 39 & only 4 in Season 40.
And I've made a much updated version of this, with the DSWs from Seasons 48-51. @trailblazer91 I gave you credit.
