1. turn off your switch 2. hold power, volume + and volume - buttons for several seconds. 3. wait for 2 logo start ups 4. there's the settings. choose wisely.
Thanks so much, I recently got a used Nintendo switch from a family member with his account still and data still on it and I wanted my own account and data thanks you so much!
Nintendo kept turning off after it was on the reset screen. So I did the process again, and this time when the reset screen popped up, I held the volume button for a moment and it stayed on the screen after I released the volume button. It worked!
I just bought a OLED for 150, but the dude forgot to erase all his info, even his shop. This video is a life saver because I texted the dude back telling him I resetted it!
I can't believe you sacrificed your own Nintendo switch just to help others you are such a legend! Thank you you helped me out. Keep it up. (Even though I was late like really late) Thank you so much! 😍🤩
Yo let's go! I'm testing and setting up my brothers switch so he can see the first time boot up like I did with mine plus not to play straight away, as tradition, you need to see the first boot up and create your account, etc. Thank you so much!
I have a question: I had just transferred my save data to another Switch, & was going to sell my other Switch after putting it on its factory settings. If I do this, will it affect the game data on my other Switch? I ask this because my 2nd Switch has this pop up which says "Checking for permission to play this game" or something like that. In short, will restoring my old Switch cause any conflict with the data on my new Switch?
I was wonder the same thing. Im trying to sell my old switch and i already transferred the old data to the new switch. I don’t want it to delete the data i put on the new switch. I did you ever get your questions answered ?
@@jaye9687 I put my old Switch on factory settings and sold it to GameStop. I still get a message talking about backed up Save data, but other than that - and so long as your data is backed up in the cloud - everything is okay.
Thank youuuu, I lost my account details and couldn’t get them back and I had to transfer my game data to a sd card and now I did the factory reset and I can finally use my Nintendo again
i wanna tell u first hold - and + (volume buttons not joycon buttons) while the system is off then tap POWER and keep holding the volume buttons until Recovery Mode screen shows up. you held all the buttons at the same time and Maintenance Mode screen showed up. well, all the options are the same.
Damn so picking the one all the way at the bottom deletes your saved game data so if I had 100 hours in botw it's gone and I have to start all over again?????
Does anyone know if your data will come back after wiping? Like for example I have NSO and have cloud backup saves so I can get those back but once it’s wiped I will have to log back into my account. Will my account remember other details like hours played for each game/application?
Does this also delete any linked email address to the console? Or do you have to unlink the email user account first and then do the factory reset? Not sure if you can just perform your steps and its deletes all email and data together? Cheers
You're right, I agree. I just finished watching a video by Xamicon and he went to settings, went all the way to the bottom and selected, "restore factory settings."
It broke my heart how a clicked the button to reset a literally cried a deleted all my progress a will always have the memory of nintendo how me and my family played😔😔😔 still today my heart every time a think about it a bad😔
wait if you have an account on here and another nintendo if you factory reset on one does it delete the account on both consoles or just the one you perform factory reset on?
Ok so uhhh I tried this but it won’t send me to the screen, it’ll go to the booting up screen than make a weird little noise than turn off I don’t know what I did
So I recently upgraded To a OLED, and I want to eventually sell my old one or to give it away, now if I swipe everything from my old one, will I still have full access to my new OLED One?
I just bought a used switch for my son. It wasn't factory reset by the previous owner and has all their stuff on it. If I reset it do I need to use the previous person's account info to start it up again or will it allow me to make a new profile?
If the switch keeps turning off like mine did even after i was on the reset creen,do it once more, once you see the second screen let go of all the buttons and hold the volume up button as you choose what you want, worked for me
Im late but questions: My bro download fortnite using his ID, and delete the game. Then.. I cant download the fortnite using my ID right. Will I be able to download the game after I do this factory reset thing? Using my ID?
Hope someone can answer this for me, and also what happen to my games that are using secondary accounts?? Will i be able to download the game using my ID later too?
I tried the second option because I wanna sell my switch to get a new one but in the second option it deleted everything but kept my accounts so I tried the 3rd option willl that delete my personal accounts and not let me log back on to a new switch?
So sorry if they said something related to my question but is there a to remove the existing acc ? My half sister gave me her nintendo switch and i want to reset it but want to keep the games???? I’ll gladly buy it if there is no way but if there is pls tell me thank you
Thank you sooo much I am selling my Nintendo and I didn’t know how to reset it you’re a life saver
Same lol just sold mine on ebay

I’m buying on for 20 pounds of my mate cuz he doesn’t want it when you have good friends
When you reseted did the storage go back to zero? Like u have all the storage and nothing is in it?

Yes the purchase and license are saved in your account not your console.

Do you still keep the games on The E store if you paid for them Like Minecraft?
A bit late, but yes, they are tied to your account.

Will this method fix my Banned Nintendo Switch Console?
The data saving reset won’t get rid of your games or their progress, right?
It makes sd card data unusable, be careful
