+Fish4Ever one question I had is I have a baby guppy fry and she is almost a year old and she just started to develop colours. Her pH and Ammonia are normal and why do you think it will take so long for her to develop colours? She is alone, because her brothers and sisters died, and she is in a 3 gallon tank with an airstone, and I clean the water once a week(40%

She was cramped for her whole life, and got stunted as a result. Sorry, but it will never reach adult size.

Sawk Video Productions you don't even know how big the guppy is 😂 it's probably not stunted. They said that the others died and she's the only one. So how was she cramped and stunted? Learn to read. And actually be helpful instead of rude

These fry are stunted, at 3 months they should have full adult colouration and resemble a small adult. Keeping them in a breeder box for that long is unnecessary and is pretty cruel. Fry shouldn't even be in breeder boxes past the first few days of life, past that they will be stunted. 'One of my males is already fully developed' No it's not, 3 month old males should be essentially adult and the females should resemble smaller versions of the adult females. You do know that males are supposed to reach adult size at 3-3.5 months and females 4-4.5 months right? Yours won't reach that until 5 or 6 months, so your fish are behind by 1-2 months. I had a home-bred male, he looked like yours when he was 1.5-2 months old, by the time he was 3 months old he was fully grown more or less, he never really grew past that. And mine was a pretty average male, somewhat early maybe. As I said, most males have their adult colours by 1.5-2 months and are at adult size by 3-3.5 months. Please for the love of god put the fry into a 10 gallon fry tank next time, you will see the difference. If you can't get another tank then just leave the fry in the tank, I would do that anyway because then only the strongest and more intelligent ones survive to adulthood. But no, you have to confine them to a little breeder box for their whole development even though they are supposed to be large enough not to be eaten by the adults at 1-1.5 months old. I really don't see the appeal of taking them out of the main tank apart from breeding strains, just leave them in there, 5-8 fry per drop will survive anyway...
