Heck Yeah, that rains washing some jewels up, Beautiful Points, that plummet is Cool As Shit, you know I don’t know of anyone in my neck of the woods that I know anyway who’s ever found a plummet, my dad use to use a plumb bob when he would lay out foundations, btw Homie I’m gonna get you some nice rose quartz when I send that stuff off, it’s so plentiful in these creeks around here, and I really want to see what you’re gonna make out of some nice rose quartz, gotta work tomorrow but my nephews wanting to go trout fishing Sunday so I’ll remind myself and tell him to gather up the prettiest rose quartz as well, didn’t know that about the dolls either, Pretty Wild, Great Video Don Juan, GL&HH 👊🏹

Not the first comment. Lol. Glad to see you got excited enough about hunting to do a rain hunt. I do it a lot. That’s what big umbrellas are for. Keep two in my car incase someone else is hunting with me and forgets one. Took Traci on a hunt with me yesterday and she found one as we were walking back to the car. About 25 feet from it. Funny how that works. Wait til you see the smoker my honey found. I’m so jealous. Congrats on the plummet and the cool finds. Can tell it’s an awesome field when you can get points on the edges. Can’t wait to see what’s in there when it gets tilled up.

I never found a plum plumit before either. You ended up with some killer finds for just winging it. I like it when a hunt turns out better than expected.
I found a whole one of them dolls digging footers where a bunch of old house use to sit. We was putting in a Shell station that had a Popeyes Chicken in it and a car wash. When we dug through the outhouse areas. We dug up all kinds of toys, old bottles and dishes. I give it to my sister n law. She had an antique store and collected things like that.

graphite plummet is rarest material i know of , mine is 1''x4'' and will balance on one end it is grooved and has a diagonal grain . ken tankersley said the material is from northcarolina and he only knows of one other, from the robbins mound richmond kentucky and mine is better . i would like to see the robbins piece but that is adena and mine is hopewell and was found associated with mako shark teeth from florida and a flintridge point coated id pyrite dust

All my honey holes are on fire now including a gold claim! I will not be able to go back into the woods until fall time maybe. The most sad is a town was burnt-out and two people killed the had 20 min to run! It was started from a train. So we pray for rain, watch for fire! If we can see through the smoke.

Two years later I'm getting the weather forecast glad it stopped raining. I've found several plummets and my 50 plus years of hunting. I watch a video from the university the other day and she was saying that they were fishing net weights. Salut,
Wet and with a pocket of artifacts is far better than dry and sitting at home any day! I really so wonder, "just what would a Native use that plummet for", unless he were building large solid constructions or surveying vast plots of land. Makes me think that our history is not anything like that we have been fed. I would triple down on that, and what happened here in the States back in the Colonial era is not what is hazily detailed and on the books.
I would add another layer, a side bet if you will, and up my wager; these people were Israelites and of the same stock as the Mexican tribes.... this may become apparent by making a short comparison; the spelling and pronunciation of the Mexican state of Michoacan and Michigan. Both names meaningfully equate to "land of fishes".
Anyways, I will not get too carried away.... I just got through a sinus infection, first in a long time, that had me miserable for a few days which also served to half my usual good temperament. Do I need to say great artifacts? I do.... I must also admit that your persistence is admirable in the face of inclement weather; way to get out there and thank you for sharing.
    Cheers and Be Well!

Boy do I feel like a dumb ass! I’m in Tennessee on the Cumberland River. On Old Hickory Lake and I just started my hunt two weeks ago but I have found about 20 artifacts. I will never look at a plowed field the same again!

Just hunting fields right now. The River where I’m at doesn’t have banks that are walkable but when I find one that is I will check it.

About 70 percent of my finds are broke or beat up but there are still some year makers out there waiting to be rescued. Hope you find something great, bub. Rock on. 🤘🏻
