Your home is not a 'disaster area'...it looks lived in...sometimes I get a little OCD about clutter but usually I just move on to something else..take care.

Your Channel just happened to show up on my Feed and as I was watching and you were describing your cabinet....I'm a former professional painter.And I also did furniture for years.I would not go to dark with this cabinet, it will be too jarring against all the other finishes in your kitchen....personally, I would do it to match your Cabinets, and l although you expressed that you dont like colour ,of the natural Wood, just adding a SLIGHTLY ( mid- tone ) darker tone with a satin finish Sealer may work well..but anything really dark will be too much ,and it it will look out of place ... ; I'm just offering my thoughts on it. You also have to take into consideration the whole look of a room, not just one piece that you're trying to change or update, its part of the process to think..." How will this look in relation to all the other things in the room...? " wood tones can be lovely, but thete is also a Balance, so things " blend " and don't look as if it " doesn't belong ".. Also, changing out the Knobs , hardware will help give a nice look to this Cabinet. Your kitchen is charming , and you could always bring in a few Wood Tone frames , as well... with art or soft hued prints that will add a bit of colour and more charm to your Space . 🙂
