I love the mulberry color you painted the desk. I have bamboo shades in our living room. It's amazing how much heat they keep out in the summer. The room does get quite dark when they are down. So just a few things to keep in mind.

I really like the color you chose for your desk and I like the curtains, but I also like bamboo blinds. If you sat at the desk at different times of the day, it might help you decide between the curtains or the blinds. You amaze me at how much you get done in the short period of time you have while your son is at school.

Love the desk color. .curtains look great. I have most of mine hung on tension rods.. trouble is my husband pulls them down alot and is very hard to put back up...neither one if us good on a ladder...take care.

If you will go to Wal-Mart or Big Lots they have the longer cafe rods...or even Lowes or Home Depot

I used krud kutter degreaser and deglosser used degreaser first than the deglosser ❤

Sarah, I will tell you....I was hesitant on the color of the desk you chose, but I have to admit it looks great! I don't see anything wrong with the curtains in front of the desk. You can still put up the shade and leave it all the way up until the sun comes in and the lower the shade. Use the curtains during the morning for light in your kitchen. Paint the rod and I don't think anyone will notice the size difference in the rod as they are across from each other. Great job, always a busy woman! 💯👍🤍
