I suggest you to upgrade your camera lens to something like a 18mm or 25mm up to 150mm or 200mm. You can easily get close ups from distance and at the same time take pictures from not so far without switching lenses. There are cheap lens without image stabilization that can easily work at high sutter speeds or on a tripod, hope it helps :) I own a tamron 18-200 with image stabilization on my canon and it is my best investment for 190 euros. I'm not a PI but I always had the interest and now with this lens I'm so inspired
Thanks for the comment. As a Private Investigator I have used many different pieces of kit to get the job done and always come back to my favourites. Now that I'm back, I will definitely start reviewing more equipment.
Pepper spray, handgun and body armour! Must have been a tough neighborhood lol. Half of investigations take place in cyberspace now but I have been in situations where I felt threatened.

I want to get into PI work (license is very easy to get where I live) and I am also buying a new car soon. The car I want is a bright blue ford focus hatchback. Would it be worth getting something that doesn't stand out as much if I am thinking about getting into this line of work? They make the car in black, but I really like how the blue looks. Unless I start making a ton of money I do not see myself buying a second car. I'm a young guy, 22, and driving is my favorite. I get excited when I get up in the morning just because I genuinely driving 10 minutes to my job. If I had the money and the know-how I would build my own "sleeper" car, probably a turbo'd subaru impreza. That would be so damn awesome lol.
When first starting out the colour of car and type is not overly important, as long as it has no major visual addons, that make it stand out. Keep your distance and have a few practice runs. There have been more than a few cases when I've had to resort to borrowing or leasing a different car but these have been long investigations on subjects that could have become aware. So this is an option if you become uncomfortable in your car. Good luck.
Great vid done surveillance task myself and loved it.however I've heard rumours that it will be regulated ie licensed.any links and advise as I want to set up in Plymouth UK any info and advice would be appreciated. Once again great vid .
After taking on a job that insisted I stay off social media for the duration (1 year). I'm happy to be back and help. Hopefully my next vid will cover what you've asked.
Will be uploading a vid in the next few days to answer some questions. The quick answer is NO it wouldn't be an issue but it would limit the cases you could take on.
Thanks. I will cover this very question in my comeback vid which I hope to release next week. So stay tuned because I've got big plans for the channel.

So, you don't use curtains, tinted windows, etc.....just put your camcorder on the beanbag and start shooting......people don't notice your shooting with the camcorder?
There may be scenarios were window tints would be an advantage but most cases it could actually attract attention to your vehicle. Most people are not looking at being followed by a PI, so don't pay much attention plus a high zoom level puts distance between the PI and subject.

Great video! Thanks for sharing! Where can you purchase the watch thing that fits in your hand?
What about audio recording, and bugs to listen to their conversations?
That's illegal
looking forward to your reviews of your various bits of kit and any other vids that you make.
Thanks Trevor. I'm going to do the reviews very soon.
Is there a way I can contact you privately?
If you use a PC for UA-cam there is a PM function on that but not on mobile devices.
