    Rim lock in your rear tires is the best thing you can for these tractors. Rim lock is beet juice it weighs 11 lbs a gallon as opposed to water at 8 lbs a gallon. It also biodegrable

      Great advice! I work on really flat surfaces and rarely get to overloading the bucket end of things so I have not needed the weight offset yet... But I'll keep that in mind as I'm sure I'll get there eventually

      I just hit 300 hours on this and have ZERO regrets! I'd but it again in a heartbeat. Dealer proximity might be a good way to decide on which is best but those decisions are always hard

      The two dealers are across the road from each other. So I have that advantage to help negotiating. I was a mechanic for years. So loose nuts and bolts are something of a familiar friend. Check regularly. You won’t have problems.

    Just purchased a 1626 with backhoe, the seat on mine does pull back towards shifters, It's very stiff and requires a little muscle to pull back

    Did you figure out why the ground had blue in it? I worked on my pond several years ago with the same tractor you have. I had the same blue!

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  6 місяців тому

      Yes I did! Red clay gets it's color from iron in the clay that has oxidized causing it to create the rust color that makes the clay red. The same clay that is even deeper in the ground and has not been exposed to oxygen will have iron that has not rusted yet and it presents as blue in color in the clay. It was almost unnatural looking how bright Smurf blue it was but it was just a natural chemical in the clay fe (iron)

    I test drove one last week, it was a shuttle shift, and that’s what I want. It seemed under powered to me but I am curious what you think after your 25 hours of working yours. Are you satisfied with the power? Another issue was it seemed like the exhaust fumes kept blowing back in my face. I’m not sure I like their exhaust pipe location. My old Yanmar has a smoke stack exhaust and it’s never been an issue with constant exhaust fumes. Figure out the blue tire issue? Must be your clay-soil??

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  11 місяців тому

      For my needs it has tons of power and the hst is under powered compared to shuttle to some extent. The blue is indeed the blue clay here. I just hit 250 hours and I love that tractor. It is a total workhorse and has not let me down I'd buy it again for sure. The exhaust location is not well thought out some folks put an elbow on it I just put a piece of flex exhaust pipe and diverted it for 10$ well worth it
