- The internal structure consists of three main chambers (the King's-, Queen's- and Subterranean Chamber), the Grand Gallery and various corridors and shafts.
There are two entrances into the pyramid, the original and a forced passage, which meet at a junction. From there, one passage descends into the Subterranean Chamber, the other ascends to the Grand Gallery. From the beginning of the gallery three paths can be taken: a vertical shaft that leads down, past a grotto, to meet the descending passage,
a horizontal corridor leading to the Queen's Chamber,
and the path up the gallery itself to the King's Chamber that contains the sarcophagus.
Both the King's and Queen's chamber have a pair of small "air-shafts". Above the King's chamber are a series of five Relieving Chambers.
I went....very narrow walkway.....hard for one person...two way traffic made it very very hard...also,it so hot....no air circulation.....i went to the top inside and it was hard to breathe..i felt like i survived a ordeal.....glad to see the sunshine upon exiting for i thought i might a permanent resident.......
After being couped indoors with this pandemic it's so nice to travel...at least virtually. Amazing place one must visit before they die.
I traveled during the pandemic…because I’m one of those guys who wasn’t buying that it was a serious as they were saying it was.
That´s impressing. And scary too.
Thanks for sharing your travelpictures.
Have a good day.
The scary part was the small shaft to climb up and go down. Ugh.
@@MichaelJirochVisualArtist And thinking of the tons of stone over your head while climbing...
@@stefanahlhorn9937 you know, I would give that a constant thought, but then I told my self, it’s been here for 4000 years and hasn’t collapsed, and it’s been said that it would be the safest place to survive a direct nuclear bomb attack. So, it quelled my fears to some degree.
@@MichaelJirochVisualArtist You´re right, that´s a good point. One day you two should travel to Germany and have a look at all the palaces. I recommend the residences of Würzburg and Munich and the palaces of Sanssouci, Potsdam (I live in Berlin, so I could guide you around a bit.), but there are many many more.
@@stefanahlhorn9937 I’ve been to Germany many times. Love it there. But I’ve never done the great palaces of Germany, though.
Which route has the shortest walk under low ceiling (I.e. where you would have to lower your body while walking)? Also, are there windows along the walks? I have claustrophobia and wish to know these in advance while planning a visit to the Great Pyramid. Thank you.
If you suffer from claustrophobia, to not do this at all. Period.
@@MichaelJirochVisualArtist Thanks for your candor. I’m actually debating with myself on this.
Yo I’m not tryna sound mean, but windows In a centuries old structure? Really?
You can tell they were not built by Millennial engineers ;) They are still standing
🤣👍

That dude in the suit was a cool guy. He was our security detail guy… he kept a close eye on all of us. He could be tough, but he knew the dangers we knew nothing of.
