    Living in Florida we know how hot it is , last year in line someone passed out and that was at around 10 at night. So even if you think the night is cooler it’s still very hot and humid in September !

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  11 місяців тому

      Exactly! It may start to feel nicer, but you don't realize how hot it really is. There were a number of heat exhaustion cases last year, kind of scary really 😟

    TBF It wouldn't be opening night without rain. I'm pretty sure that'd be a bad omen for HHN, if it didn't rain opening night.

    Universal sells earplugs. Not every shop, and they tend to sell out, but ask around you can probably find some to buy.

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  11 місяців тому

      Oh nice! I haven't actually looked for them in the shops before, I always just brought my own. So that's actually great news. Had I known, I would have bought myself a pair that day I lost them haha 🤣🤣

    Great ideas. Definitly agreed about getting the tiks early. Also agreed about electrolytes - highly rec'd Gatorade Zero. While I use a "real poncho" (military grade), i always bring the disposable ponchos (Amazon, 20 for $19) for people that are with me only for their quick visit. I buy them all the time, and even pass them out to people that desperately need something - my good deed for the day! Not only socks, I actually bring a complete extra outfit. It's all Under Armour stuff, so it rolls up small and is very light in the backpack. I also bring a small first aid kit that has bandaids and alcohol wipes - you would be surprised at how many times it came in handy for random strangers (and myself) that got a cut or scrape in the houses. This was a great idea for providing a list to help others out. Hopefully low impact from the hurricane. Stay safe - looking forward to your vids after your opening night visit!! Be well.

      We love our Gatorade zeros haha, honestly they're so good compared to regular Gatorades. Oh dang, military grade ponchos seem like they might be a bit pricey for my wallet! I think having both is probably a good idea, a nice quality one and then maybe a more throw away option. I really like the vinyl ones, as they feel like they cover you way better and the reusability is just WAYYYY nicer. I think extra clothes and such all just depend on the party size and what kind of room you have. I think if I could fit a change clothes in my bag, I probably would. But I have limited space, so I have to kind of take things that I think will suit the night for us. A first aid kit actually seems REALLY smart, I saw a lot of people standing in line with blisters, scrapes, etc. And I think that could go a long way for some of those people. Also, it gets slippery when it's wet on some of the surfaces at Universal, so if you have a spill, having a bandage to patch up could be a nice touch. Good thought! I was really trying to give people some thoughts on items we bring that are probably very similar to others, but also what we personally find to be most useful. Still monitoring the Hurricane, I really hope it doesn't do much damage to anywhere in Florida, as of now, Orlando seems ok. But I know how devastating they can be as we saw last year. I am really hoping to have a really fun opening night video, if we plan on doing and filming everything, it could be seriously like an hour long 😱 So I have to keep in mind the audience, too haha.

    • @Sir-Ray
      @Sir-Ray 11 місяців тому +1

      @@Dillon.Thomas Yeah - that military-grade poncho is primo. It was a Christmas gift from a buddy many years ago when he was in the service. Been monitoring the hurricane as well, although it doesn't look like it will come near me (in Champion's Gate.) Yeah - kind of expecting a long vid - maybe get two out of it! Be well.

      @Dillon.Thomas  11 місяців тому +1

      @Sir-Ray it would be really hard to separate it into 2 videos since I'm so "on the go" with the videos haha. I'll have to see! I'll probably do chapters on the video so people can skip around, too. I need to take a look at those military ponchos for the future, they sound sweet! I think our whole area in and around Orlando (as of now) seems to be pretty ok, but we won't know till tomorrow night. Still nervous it's going to really intensify and shift course. 😬

    I like hydration IV for my electrolytes, it's a powder that can safe space and just fill your cup/bottle then when I need it. I was gonna say flip flops lol, but if it doesn't rain a second pair of socks are nice if you've been in the park all day. I would change before the event started.
    For people that need a higher amount of pills I suggest a portable pill case, that folds over on itself it makes a difference. Or if your having to carry meds for multiple ppl u can at least label those.
    I'd say another essential would be chapstick, deodorant or a powder if you sweet alot, eye drops bc some peoples eyes get irritated by the fog, or yellow shooting glasses for the lights, and toothpicks bc man HHN food get stuck between your teeth will drive you insane 😂
    Sorry that was so much hope it wasn't to much or a bother. I know I comment a lot.

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  11 місяців тому +1

      All very good points! Liquid IV packets are good because it's lower profile/bag space and you can just add it to the free water around the park! Socks are nice if you are sweating and you may need a new pair lol but I definitely recommend flip flops/slides etc for the rain. I think you have to prove that it's your medication if it's something strong, though, I don't think just anyone can bring in prescription drugs if they're serious. So, just making sure in the event they need to know at security would be the one thing to keep in mind.
      I always have chapstick on me, so maybe that should be an essential for sure haha 😂 I also like the glasses and eye drops for sure, people have mentioned that a few times. I'm glad you had a lot more details for people to take a look at, preparation is key to big events! You don't want to feel like you waste your money because something goes wrong!

      @@artemiswild7448 I am not 100% sure, but I know if they're sticklers on open bottles of Gatorade, there is a decent chance they may be a stickler on medication without the original bottle/box. But thank you again for giving us more essentials & tips! That should help out a lot!🙏

    Can you tell us more about those refillable cups for alcohol? Sounds tempting 🤭

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  11 місяців тому +1

      Of course! We will cover it in a future video a bit more in depth. But for the basics on it, basically you'll pay a higher amount to get a blinky cup with alcohol in it that will be a souvenir cup themed to the event. With that cup, anytime you come back for the 2023 season, you can refill it with any of the available alcohol offerings at a discounted price. So it won't be free, but for example a $14 drink might be an $8 refill instead. So if you plan on buying multiple drinks through the night, I highly recommend picking one up! Plus, it's a blinky cup and it's a great piece of merch you get to bring home and put on display! Again, we will cover more of the pricing on it once it's all released, but I think some of my old videos from last year might have the pricing listed there. I don't know if it'll be the same this year, however. Hope that helps!

    Where can one get a fuel rod in city walk or studios? And would 30 decibel foam earplugs be enough

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  11 місяців тому

      I actually don't know on the fuel rods, I don't recall seeing them around the park, but I would assume the main universal studios store would have them. And for ear plugs, anything to help will suffice, I like the ones that kind of just cut decibels vs full-blown negate the sound, but that's personal preference. I think any ear plug really would work, so that should be perfect!

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  10 місяців тому

      So if you come to the park before 5, security lets you in no issues. If you get in after 5, you'll have to empty drinks 😟 so based on timing would be your best bet! If you have the tickets on your phone, you should be good! If you did pickup or anything, then just make sure to get them picked up way ahead of time instead of right before the event!

      Hmm that's a great question! Some objects are ok, some are not 🤔 your best bet would be to contact guest services just to be safe. I usually do both. Print a physical ticket ( just incase) and print my fast pass. I cut the fast pass so the basic info and QR code fits on the badge on my lanyard (with my hand sanitizer!), so I don’t have to pull out my phone every time. So much easier to walk up and show your badge than to use your phone. I’m going on opening weekend so it’ll be rainy. This is much easier than using my phone 😊.
