Jr needs to be running the sport. It would be so much better.
a "Fans Commission and Board". The Dale Jr. Still the most popular and well recognized name in NASCAR. Should be it's chairmen
Miss Mike...😢
Same here
Found him annoying, but didn’t realize how good he was until he was gone.
I don’t
Mike who?
Is Mike gone ??
Dale, please bring the CARS Tour to Winchester Speedway. It's been the home to many many historical Late Model races.
Salem and IRP too!!!! Tour the region when they can expand the series!🤘😁🤘
We are already race CRA late models at all of those tracks and have for years with the same rules as the CARS Tour so why would they need to come?
@@andyjennings15 what's the CRA Late Models? Do you know where I can watch them?
@dalejjr DJD Always a great show. It’s appreciated more than you know ! You are a great ambassador for nascar. They are very lucky to still have you a part of the sport.
Lagano does 800 laps tire testing at NW and then leads every lap. Imagine that.
54 and 24 also had about 800 Laps in testing at the same time.. 1 hit the wall and bent a toe link (24) and 1 spun (54) . Why were they not better
@@jimmirogers3485sounds like a new fan. Setups. That's why they weren't better. Driver talent also comes into play but Ty Gibbs is a damn good driver while William Byron is an okay driver. Also the setup, along with equipment, determines how well the car drives.
@@turtleman6854I would definitely have Byron ranked higher than Ty Gibbs, but yes, leading races and winning also require more than testing a tire. Sometimes Lady Luck comes into play as well
@@pandaman1869 yes you are right that luck also plays a good deal because when you're going around a track almost 200mph it's indeed dumb luck that they don't put it in the wall 🤣
Love the Laguna and the Matador you got on today cool cars
Dirty Mo needs a news show with Race Hub going away
All three of my words today , Drainage problems, Southern Most Point , debris/DuBree ! 45 years in grading and have Tat of point on my back !
That’s 6 words…
Man I love your pod cast! I'm 63 old school race lover. I actually had the chance to be around it alot in the 90s. I actually had a nascar license at the time for commercial business support. I would like to see Mike Beam on the show. I remember talking to him alot back in the day. Thanks for the show Dale it's great for a old race guy like myself!
IMO: Forget the bracket challenge, just concentrate on fixing the car & making the on track performance better. 40+ year NASCAR fan.
Needs 100 HP back.
Yall have been saying this for 10 years now. They give you a new car you complain every single time. Just say you want the 87s back and be done with it. This has been the best the racings been in 20 years. Nobody just goes out and dominates a race anymore they have to work for it.
@@Tom-h4g6y Joey led 199 of 200 laps in the All Star Race. Larson puts on nearly new tires near the end but couldn't catch or pass Joey whose on tires with nearly 100 laps. That's not just because of Joey's skill set.
@@stephenlea5765 Has a ton to do with it. Also a ton to do with the track not the car itself. Let's talk about how he also put in the time on the sim. That nobody else did. What about everywhere else he didn't win?
not every fan is like you. You gotta appeal to the lesser hard-core fan. I get you. But we are not the only ones into the sport like that
Yes that rain just about drowned me and my wife walking back to our R/V
I heard that, I got out of there just in time. It got me on my drive back home.
The bracket idea does foster fan engagement. I'm with ya Dale on that one.
I have been boxing for the last year. Its a great sport.
Hey Andrew, it was nice meeting you on pit road this past sunday! Keep up the good work on the show
What is his role in the NASCAR world? Don’t know what he or Dalton do outside of the download 🤷♀️
I have been watching the old NASCAR races on the NASCAR Classics channel and there is this guy from I think "76 fuels" (maybe a PR guy ?) he's in just about every victory lane video from about 1979 through the 90s. He has a unique style all his own...he sports's what looks like gold rim sun glasses, a mountain man beard, an open collar shirt, big hair..... it all just screams the 1970's. Remarkably his style does not changed for at least 20 years. Just as impressive is that he genuinely seems to be more excited about being in victory lane than many of the race winners. Who is he? What's the story? How would he feel about the "frontstretch" celebrations?.... my bet is that he find away to be there on the frontstretch still photo bombing all the victories.... I think he's that committed.
To the commenter asking about the 1970s Victory Lane character:
His name is Bill Brodrick, the Unocal (aka Union 76, the big spinning orange ball seen at their gas stations across the USA, was the official racing gas of NASCAR for decades) ambassador who for 29 years led, coordinated, orchestrated Victory Lane celebrations and what became known as "The Hat Dance" (search YT if you haven't seen it. The sped-up ones are hilarious!) He took his job seriously - getting the winner and his team in Unocal hats and lined up for photographers/UP-API reporters as soon as possible to make the next day's newspapers' sports page. Pretty soon, other sponsors like Goodyear (or Hoosier during the Tire Wars years) Gatorade and STP and the race then the car's main sponsors, started providing Bill with boxes of their hats for him to pass out and ensure their photographers got pictures for their companies. [FYI there was also Leo Mehl, Goodyear racing head honcho, always in Victory Lane, too.]
I'm old, hehe, and been going to the races since I was in utero (Mom drag-raced until she couldn't fit behind the steering wheel June 1966; first NASCAR race was at Ona WV, 2 months old but Mom & I stayed in the car parked up by the fence during the race while Dad & his buddies were in the stands - priorities, I guess? He built race engines.) If we weren't at the race, we'd listen on the AM band of the radio, tuned in to some far off station like WLS in Chicago that was carrying the broadcast -- WAY before ABC's chopped up recap of the previous week's race during 'Wide World of Sports' was a weekend TV glimpse and never live.
Dale, do you people ever think about us 70 something, retired, living on SSI , life long fans being able to watch NASCAR races? Do you know part of the reason the viewers on TV has been steadily going down? It’s because it is getting piece worked out and chopped up and people cant find what channel the races are on or dont have cable and or cannot afford a computer or cable or internet? Man, next year I am seriously considering not watching any Nascar because I know that when it comes down to the important part of the season I will not be able to afford to watch it. There for the last part of the season, that determines what happened all year, the finally I will not get to watch. Sucks, big time.
Everybody can afford it You just got to figure out how to budget for it. It's not Junior's problem That old timers like you only live on social security and have no other income like a pension or part time job. NASCAR is about younger fans
@johnhass you are about a fool
@@johnhaas2523yeah well just remember smart-ass one day you'll be "old" too!! Have some respect!!!!!
@johnhaas2523 it's not up to you to judge other people and their financial standing in life. As far as Nascar being for younger people? I'm 58 and have been watching since the mid 70's. History is a big part of Nascar. Why do you think Stapleton42 is such a popular U tube channel.
You will be old one day too if your lucky.
,
The tv viewership really going down? Thought nascar was booming.
To answer your question, yes he telegraphed the punch. Thanks for not spending all day on the subject though. It was a minor tussle. Not a fight.
The only current NASCAR driver that’s even shown he actually knows how to throw a punch has been the little runt Gibbs.
@@toddschlicher Ross popped Noah with a pretty sharp shot.
@@lgsocom Yeah you’re right, I forgot about that one.
Agreed. And a sucker punch. Weak. Just like his driving.
Don’t get Amazon 🙁
Ya, streaming is just a money grab. Sadly.
Looking good Junebug catching a bit of this pre video mtgs and yep that whole Wilkesboro deal is thanks to you too ... Not sure if this is AskJr I could be still discombobulated time zones are a thing and that going from 7 or 11 feet above sea level to near 6,000 was wild especially with that custom beer at over 5 percent alch! Ooof your head would spin anyway but cool town and big race fans/ sports fans there too in Colorado Rockies 🍻 M. In Miami : )
PS not the fight part hahaha ... But it was like days of old 🥊M
An episode with Mr. Hendrick himself would be amazing
The last 2 races have both had a 3-wide issue that caused a crash. Can you compare the two and distinguish “faults?”
Sure. Byron's move was something you would expect from a driver like Stenhouse. Each awful moves in their own right.
I'm all for going back to Homestead. Love the area and there's so much more to do there. We always had a blast the week before the race and the week after.
What do you do/where? Couldn't believe that track was in the middle of nowhere.
A racetrack is a great distribution center because you can go to the race track and leave with cases of moonshine. Thats brilliant to fool the tax man. that 'still area' under the stands could have been for makers to bring stuff to the track and distribute.
Anyone else think Jr was playing guitar at first in the picture?
Jr. Love your pod cast. You know I guy from my old neck of woods race in the sportsman series race at Daytona dutch hoag 67 an 68 was from cohocton ny he kicked but langhorne speedway.
Homestead feels more like old school Saturday night racing vibe. Just where the track is located. Like they said just out and really only thing around.
I liked your beer bracket last year.
Everything that NASCAR has done since changing BRISTOL banking has turned me off the sport. No matter how I've tried to get back to watching it again, i just cant. Between Stage racing and the new cars, i just cannot.
I used to record/dvr practice, qualifying and both series of racing. Watching every lap. I honestly think it is the fact that your dad and yourself arent in it anymore.
NASCAR did not change the banking
@@johnhaas2523yes they did! It’s progressive banking at Bristol now, NASCAR killed Bristol & 90% of the other tracks thatve been repaved
@johnhaas2523 Thanks. I was wondering the details. Feel like Bristol is the only short track still hanging on as good racing.
Gimmickcar
Go back to WC style points. Award points for leading a lap and most laps.drivers will fight to lead a lap. Get rid of stage points and playoffs.
Hey man Amazon can be absolutely legendary. I’m so fucking excited. Dale Jr is the absolute key to everything. NBC, you fkd up. Great knowledge on how tracks are created. NASCAR NEEDS NORTH WILKESBORO. I was there, it’s awesome, give it a points race.
He will ruin NASCAR given the chance. He wrecked DEI not Theresa, then flopped at Hendrick.
I like Charlotte for the final.
Junior NEEDS TO RACE @the 24’ Slinger Nationals, July 9th
Yes Stenhouse should be suspended, but let's not kid ourselves, Busch needs an ass woopin more than anyone in NASCAR. He is so entitled that he thinks wrecking someone for passing him is ok. I know he is used to being successful, but quit blaming someone else. Stenhouse didn't do anything wrong other than make Busch mad. And if NASCAR doesn't do something for him intentionally wrecking Stenhouse, the kick his ass. How is it not ok for Bubba Wallace to do it to Larson, but it's ok for Busch to do it. Wonder what would be the result if Busch had intentionally wrecked Larson.
Does Tony Stewart selling charters concern you on the future of nascar
How long can u rehash an event ? That poor fs1 replays Sun. 3 days in a row. We got it ! Farewell, a race fan will never miss the production. Will miss the personalitys
Where do I go to ask Dale a question??
And loved your era the sound of the cars too , I don’t want electric
Don't worry it won't go electric, if it did the entire fan base is gone. Most likely what's going to happen is Nascar will do what F1 is doing and find a fuel to run that doesn't pollute but keep enginee
I prefer Phoenix over Homestead for the title race, especially with all the 4/5 wide craziness with drivers dropping low after a restart.
Personally, i think the playoff qualification should be a cumulative assessment of each car's regular season. "The old points system" or whatever everyone always complains about. Stack em and eliminate them as they do. 16-12-8-4.
The PGA is a decent model imo, though both have the finale currently "incorrect". Golf should have no starting strokes and a smaller final field, and the Nascar Championship race has to be at least a 1 and 1/3 mile track. No automatic playoffs, no automatic playoff advancement. Every week matters. The best will win.
I don't know "the old system" as I just starting following Nascar around 2017 ish, but you could "add" (or boost) regular season points awarded for things; ...wins, poles, Majors, etc. All of this imo are measures of production, no gimmick(s) needed.
I look forward to the day when Hamlin retires and we can get Denny and Dale Jr on a broadcast. Then they can disagree on who is to blame for what and we will get honest reactions as the stuff happens
Jr. needs to level up and get rid of the giggly boys. Denny would work.
Ricky looked like a hobbit taking a swing at an ogre. Telegraphed for sure. He went with the hook, should have led with a jab.
SVG should have had a shot at the All Stars after Chicago win...
I would rather the championship race be at Richmond. If not there than Charlotte
The Daytona 500 winner should be locked into the final 4 .
Glad to see Dale isnt buying /feeding into the ridiculous theory that a commom sink hole is some kinda super elaborate moonshine still/stash spot. Its not. Drain pipe collapsed due to age and severe weight on it for decades. Pipe collapsed , the amount of weight with the earth and packed grandstands caused it. Then the earth above the pipe sunk into the pipe and some got washed out and some stuck around and clogged the pipe.. marcus wants it to some top secret moonshine spot ... helps build the legend of the old place
I'm so sry for calling dj out because he wouldn't sing an autograph. He was still in Busch. Fuk, I'm sorry DJ. That's all I wanted to say.....forgive me
Championship race should be talladega. Or S.I.R. "Seattle International Raceway" road course.
do you think rockingham is going back on the schedual next year?
I hate the championship at homestead.
Do you not like racing and fast cars? 😂
Lil Tjay 🥊🤣
I agree homestead!!
Did he hit Danica?
What do you think of the stages? Will NASCAR ever get rid of them and go back to classic racing?
No
Racing is not a stick and ball sport.About time people figured it out. Get back to improving the racing and the fans will be there.
I, personally, am hoping NASCAR will come to their senses, admit what a dumbass idea it was and get back to running a race 400, 500 miles from start to finish the way it shoulda STAYED. And I think they will once every seat in the house is empty.
I want win & in gone. Have best drivers in playoffs, not drivers who only win speedway & road courses
So you miss the days where the championship was locked up with 3 races to go? Yeah that was super fun.
What do you think they should do about the drainage problem at wilkesboro
Make sure The storm drain doesn't get covered with trash when rains so much as that was the big problem
More Gimmicks to crown the Championship that's what nascar needs. Don't hide the tournament but leave the Championship out
Fans don’t care about money races bc $1million isn’t big money to the world at large anymore. More than that you’ve got drivers who are also team owners like Denny Hamlin partnered with the likes of Michael Jordan a multi billionaire. Fans don’t look at nascar as a bunch of good ol boys piecing cars together to go race anymore. This is a mass produced manufactured race series that needs to do one thing, deliver good races. Formula 1 is going back to louder engines in 2030 what are y’all doing.
P.s. don’t no one think a million dollar all star race is anything to bat an eye at when a charter trades for $40 million.
And Hamlin drives for a DIFFERENT team! Haha. Total joke. Imagine Jordan owned the Wizards and played for the Bulls. 😂
the P are too loud
North Wilkesboro was an absolutely terrible race
I predict Christopher Bell will win this year's Coca-Cola 600 because he had speed last year and led 48 laps before being caught up in multiple incidents plus joe gibbs racing is good at charlotte motor speedway
Would be cool if Larson could do it after Indy though.
Yeah it would be
Are u a computer program, or do u post this every week everywhere for fun?? Paid by the comment? Genuinely curious. Every week without fail, "Christopher Bell...blah blah". 😂
@@FantasySportsZen maybe I don't maybe I do I'm just Bell's biggest fan that's all
@@marcusvillarrealwell congrats my man...u called it😅
I keep hearing how good North Wilkesboro was on Sunday, but as a fan watching on TV ot was boring, 22 led all but one lap, that's not good! SUCKED IMO!
I love Dale and this is HIS show but sometimes he needs to let his co-host have a say.
It’s Florida baby. Phoenix sucks
Please dump nascar Jr it’s dead all the people who is in charge of NASCAR needs fired they ruined this sport over the past 20 years ‼️
Quit calling racing -industry!!
Too much BS
Go back just regular points
Bahahahaha bible thumper boxing ring
Just another gimmick guy would be leading by 3 seconds and then lose the lead by guys batting to win a tournament it’s dumb
Dude this is not a popular segment any longer. Cleetus is getting 500k plus views each time he posts. Something has to change here or Im not following anymore. Get rid of the little boys first.
Phoenix ruined their track with the new track design. They should have left the original design and just redone everything around it.
Stop trying to make NASCAR into just another "stick and ball sport!"
Pickle Ball is more exciting than NASCAR.
Sure it is. Enjoy pickle ball then we’ll keep enjoying nascar🙌
Dale I enjoy you podcast and comments. However i do take exception with using your fame to promote gambling to your audaince that maybe can ill affort it. Keep up your good work thu. JIM
