I’m excited to see this with my family. Found God again through The Chosen. Thank you! I think this will be a timeless Christmas classic that will bring many to Jesus for years to come! 💜✝️
I've always said that you are an awesome director. You can take a very talented actor and make him or her even better. I mentioned to my son that you can make even a ham a better actor! This movie is truly a work of art. HEY! ONTO YOU A CHILD IS BORN!
I a) have read the book and b) watched the '83 release. So, fair warning. :) I *really* thought I'd like this film. I loved both the book and the 1983 release. They were paced well, and the script was perfect as it was. Both had the feels and the pacing was just fine. I have an informed critique that make no sense to mention to anyone but you. Do you have a means of email-forwarding?
Went on Sat. Nov. 2nd with my family. My 9 year old grandson was sitting next to me and toward the end of the movie he leaned over to me and said, "This is a really good movie"!! Doesn't seem like much but coming from the 9 year old boy who doesn't always express much, well, that was huge!! Good job Dallas!
I have to defend the Resurrection of Gavin Stone. My husband and I highly enjoyed the movie. We’ve watched it a couple of times now and it was one of my motivators to check out The Chosen.
I saw this movie in early access Saturday the 2nd in the theater. Absolutely loved it and I'm planning to see it again after the official release. I think it's destined to be a new Christmas classic on par with A Christmas Story. I got a lot of Christmas Story vibes from this but so much more than that. Great movie! I highly recommend it.
Read the book! As a retired librarian, I always told the students to read the book before watching the movie. Books have the authors actual words and the story as they want it to be told. I remember reading this books out loud several times and the students liked it. Read, read, read!
I used to do this, but I have since changed my mind. If I haven’t read a book before a movie adaptation has come out, I wait until after I see the movie. This way I can enjoy the movie as a movie. Then I read the book. It helps me to separate them as individual projects. Sometimes I can enjoy them after as great adaptations or I can enjoy them as their own thing. I did this with the Percy Jackson movies. The movies were enjoyable the first time I watched them. Then I read the books. I enjoyed the books, but definitely choose to see the movies as their own thing since they were awful adaptations, but fun on their own. Of course this can’t always happen being an avid reader.
I'm so excited for this to come out. I know I'll be going to see it multiple times just so I can share it with others.. And I'm Uber excited to see the last supper scene. I mean holy moly really?! So much happens at the last supper. I've never seen it done properly. I'm excited to see what Dallas gives us.
I haven’t been to the movies in Years… there has been nothing I wanted to see at all. I saw this trailer randomly pop up somewhere and I bought tickets for my entire family within minutes for the earliest possible showing I could find close to me!! We read the book every year at Christmas and watch the old movie every year too… I am stoked to see this!!!!!
I was at the same preview you and Vanessa attended. I saw it at ChosenCon and loved it! Seeing it the second time was even better! I saw and experienced more this time. It IS an amazing story! Dallas has brought us a new Christmas classic. The nostalgic ambiance (with the story told from a narrators viewpoint) made it even better. I recommend it to anyone...any family...and give it a 9. I'm seeing it AGAIN on November 2nd...along with the preview of season 5 (in which I'm a bg extra!)
I've already seen it and it's absolutely wonderful. Such a heartwarming and funny movie. I'll be seeing it at least twice when it comes out in theaters.
Awesome Livestream Brandon, I wanted to go see this movie ever since Dallas started talking about it. But after your breakdown, & we get to see a scene from the last supper, I'm so there
Now I have to tell Della let's go see it. It will be little hard on her getting me into wheelchair down the porch steps and in her truck but I want to see it
I read this book as good decades ago now. I can’t remember if there was an older movie but I definitely remember the book. It was such a classic growing up. I just remember the kids being in the okay and acting out the story of Jesus birth changed them for the better and everyone around them.
I'm really glad to hear you say these things about this film, as a lover of the book I was really hoping that Dallas would capture what made it so great.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is awesome. We watch the 1983 made-for-TV-movie every year. It’s top notch. A simple story that doesn’t take itself too seriously but at the same time has subtle depth. The book was great, too.
I was not surprised that getting to see an advanced showing, as well as hanging out with Dallas, would lead you to promote this movie. I’ll have to say that cheesy Xmas movies do not excite me in the least. I was not impressed by the book, nor the 1980s TV version, and I have low expectations for this version. If it hadn’t been for Dallas directing I wouldn’t even step foot into a theater to watch it, and even that is mitigated by some of his previous films such as Gavin and some others that were not very well done IMHO. So your endorsement is interesting but not huge in so far that I wouldn’t expect much else from you with all the givens of a Super-fan that you are.
This is basically the kind of movie that us Hallmark/Great American Family watchers are watching now. Only thing is, it's Christian based. It will be a good movie. I'll definitely watch it.
I've never heard of the storybook either. So glad you told us it's not a Santa Claus movie (we don't do the SC thing either). The trailer has me sold & my family will go & i can't wait! Thanks for your input😊
I am so excited to see this movie! We saw it advertised in the theater when we were going to watch a different movie and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever showed up and I was so surprised and excited! 😃😃🥰🥰 We did listen to it on an audible too, and that was so good and funny! So, yea, can't wait to see it in the theater 🎭! 🥰💖
This is so strange. When I ff with my finger on the screen of my phone, I can see you. But when I press "play" the screen is pitch black. Never experienced this before.
I hope it comes to the UK. Maybe now that "The Chosen" app is changing to "5&2" it'll be a platform for this film to be online eventually. My thoughts : There must be a lot of interest in how Dallas does outside "The Chosen". He obviously hit the motherlode with that, but TBCPE will confirm his calibre as a director. I wait to see how it goes outside "The Chosen" fan base. I so hope it's the success it should be.
Small spoilers if you choose to read the wbole comment I just watched the movie last night, my theater had the early access premiere where we got to watch the Season 5 sneak peek of the Chosen and some other fun behind the scenes stuff. And I really REALLY enjoyed it. My theater was laughing throughout half of the movie because, well, kids will say the darndest things, and BOY HOWDY do they say some wild things in this. But yeah, I really did like seeing how, a bunch of "Evil" kids randomly deciding to be in a church pageant really made them more curious about a story they've never heard about before which is something we don't really see a lot these days. I didn't cry 4 times like you did Brandon, though I almost did at 2 points, where (spoilers) the kids run away when they hear accusations about something they actually didn't do and everyone just walks away when they find out it wasnt them not apologizing because thats such a cruel thing that would actuallyvhappen. And when it's at the play and, I think her name is Alice, is talking bad about the kids throughout the whole thing, but then when its reaching the end, she's looking at Imogen and says, "Wait. Mary is crying," and that's such a little thing but it's very beautiful how in that one moment where she's crying with the doll, to the audience, they didn't see her as the tough scary Imogen but as the sweet mother Mary she decided to play
I thought overall it was good and Dallas did a good job. But I personally would have preferred less narration and let the story tell itself. But I agree 8 out of 10.
This movie is actually a RE-MAKE of "the best christmas pagent ever"... The first movie was made in 1983. It can be found in full right here in youtube and it is FREE. ua-cam.com/video/icZwm6Aact8/v-deo.html 👍
In theaters soon. I’m not sure if they have any plans to share it for free. My guess is no since it’s not 5&2 that are the studio behind it. This should follow the other Kingdom story company movies
I kinda liked the Gavin Stone film. It wasn't worthy of a theatrical release, it was more like a Christian Hallmark special. Hoping the Christmas film is better.
I started to FOLLOW this Channel Because I liked the comparison between the scriptures and the chosen's script , but this turned to be a promo for all related of Dallas Jenkins proyects, Please investigate all the folclore and the evil roots of "Chistmas" that has nothing to do with Christ. Is blassfemy against God.
I saw this movie at ChosenCon and I loved it! I was afraid you Brandon may have not liked it and am so happy that you did, and gave this wonderful response to it. It IS the Gospel in a charming little family movie. ❤

We are very grateful for what you have done, dear Dallas.
You're like family to us now !

Great critique! I feel this will be a winner no matter which way you look at it!
I've always said that you are an awesome director. You can take a very talented actor and make him or her even better. I mentioned to my son that you can make even a ham a better actor! This movie is truly a work of art. HEY! ONTO YOU A CHILD IS BORN!
Thank you for making this and I can’t wait to see it! I hope it breaks out into the mainstream more and does well at the box office with all audiences
Brandon, I actually made some films before Resurrection of Gavin Stone. :)
I know I know, I couldn’t find a way to talk about everything concisely lol. Had to oversimplify so people understand.
I also don’t think the Gavin Stone movie was a total flop - it had a good story and I enjoyed it. Was it stellar…no, but not a flop ☺️
I a) have read the book and b) watched the '83 release. So, fair warning. :)

I also saw The Resurrection of Gavin Stone and liked it very much. I've seen it a few times and I can't find anything wrong with it.
@@user-nf4os9kn6sI think that the plot was great but to be honest some of the acting could have been better.
Saw it last night in TX. Loved i! There were very few not crying or teary eyed in this sentimental journey. ❤
I, honestly, didn’t know this was based on a book. I remember watching the 1983 movie and absolutely loving it.
Glad to hear Santa not mentioned in the new show
But one of the kids mentioned Baal
Looks like a fun Christmas movie!!
Wow - Dallas got Brandon in the feels! Thanks for sharing this Brandon

LOL, Totally understand. Though as a media analyst it's probably important for me to watch this without knowing what it is supposed to be.
Best. Book. Ever.

If this movie truly is about children meeting Christ for the first time and wanted to chase after Him with everything they have, then it's BEAUTIFUL
The original version of this movie is free on UA-cam, and I love it. I can't wait to watch it ❤
My prodigal daughter agreed to go see it with me. I'm praying she doesn't get freaked out and bail.

Nuff said, Brandon, you convinced me!
Thanks Brandon. We definitely want to see it.
I love Hope Nation! I can’t wait to see that video!
Dallas is showing a lot of range in his media creator abilities!
You did a great job bringing the experience of this movie to life. Now I will find some way to see it (I live in Greece).
Just watching a little bit of the movie make me want to watch it because it shows the really reason of Christmas. The Love of Jesus to everyone! ❤

I am so exited!!!
I appreciate your review 🎉
I'm so excited to see this movie. Thanks Brandon ❤❤
Looks like a good movie to take my grandchildren to. Thanks for the review.
Sounds like it would be a good movie.
The Dallas Jenkins super fan telling us to watch a Dallas Jenkins project. Imagine the shock

On The Chosen series Dallas did fantastic
