After we sing happy birthday someone always goes "Hip Hip!" and everyone else goes "Hooray!", ususally three times, before they cut the cake. In my experience, the one going "Hip Hip!" is usually someone who knows the birthday person well, like a close friend or a parent.

So the thing with the VGC controversy is that even the new checks only catch sloppily generated pokemon, and the tools used to generate pokemon have much better in-built legality checks. So it is also a case of people being rather careless, although the official legality checks do have other issues. The other part of the issue is that Worlds was announced to be a new format not too long before it happened, which legalised transfer pokemon that require Sword and Shield, the DLC for those games, or Legends Arceus to obtain. The most extreme (and not too relevant) example of a problematic pokemon to obtain was an Enamorus with 0 or 1 speed IVs, which required beating both the main story and a decent portion of the postgame of Legends Arceus to obtain. To check if it did have the optimal stats, it needed to be transferred to another game, which requires saving the game, so the entire game needs to be restarted to try at another one. Of course, the most relevant example is Urshifu, which requires a copy of Sword or Shield with the Isle of Armour DLC, requiring a few hours of gameplay to obtain and much easier to reset for since they almost never need minimised IVs which can be checked without needing to be transferred.
Zack's idea about the TV show Washed up UA-camrs is actually interesting. Having UA-camrs take on an apprentice and see who can get the highest sub count by the end of like 6months or something would be kinda cool. Talk about youtube tricks, editing, thumbnails, ideas, etc etc.
