How to change the interior lights, on a BMW F20 F21 1 Series

- Hello guys this is a quick video, showing you how to change the interior lights on a basic F20 / F21 1 Series.
My car has the basic interior light package, so I can't show you everything, so I will add some links down below :)

Thank you. I had a squeak coming from that area. I disassembled it and the cover behind the light fitting and our back = no squeak.

E E that’s cool man. Careful with them metal clips, you can’t buy them separate. If you loose them, you need to buy the whole light. It’s very silly lol :)
@@mattsbeamer jajajaja I will. Take care, keep doing videos, love them (suggested videos, battery registration/coolant change/coolant bleeding/brake bleeding/ real recomendated maintenance plan, not the bmw recomendated, / 20-50 things about me / cars you have owned / bmw f20 n13 main problems).

Thank you for this very useful video. Changed my bulbs from the OEM halogen to blue LED's. Both of my clips fo the center roof lamp got stuck under the roof. Used a cheap neodynium magnet from Aliexpress to get both back.

Great video! Do you know if I can use w5w lights for the interior roof lights instead of the w6w lights? Would there be any difference in brightness if I use w5w instead of w6w?

Thank you so much for the video! I am actually in the process of changing all bulbs (interior and exterior) to white bulbs and you have given me all the info on what bulbs there are in specific areas of the car! Do you have another video on the changing exterior bulbs?? Please let me know if yes!

Hey man, I have a video on most of the exterior bulbs. The rear lights, fogs etc. I haven’t done the indicators in the door Morris thou. Because my glass seems well stuck lol. Cheers

For the interior of the F20, the bulbs are the T10 or the T15?

Hi Matt, old video but hopefully you’ll see this. Do you know where to get the interior light clips when they fall out the overhead dome light please? We’ve lost them in the roof lining. Or what to google to find them. Thank you!
Hello, I need to look into it. I lost my metal clips, and BMW wouldn't list them individually (I looked on realOEM). Maybe someone sells a similar clip. If I find out, I will let you know. :)
Hoi, I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I wanted to ask you something. I have a 2015 f20 with 60k KM n13 engine and there is this massive rattle in cold start specially and at low revs, I have surfed the internet and discovered is something common in these engines, does it happen to you? Do you know what to do to fix it? I’ve seen some posts about a Vw turbo Clip adaptation on the wastegate rod (which is 90% of the case to blame for this rattle ) but I would like to know if it happens to you as I cannot appreciate it on the videos.
What is your opinion on this? Thanks in advance !!
Hey, if you mean the wastegate rattle then BMW said its normal. I agree its not the most pleasant noise. It used to happen on my car, but lately, it seems to have got quieter, or I have just got used to it, hence why I haven't done a VW clip video :) If it comes back then I will :) cheers
You could have used white LEDs ;)
I was thinking about it. I decided to go against it :) My friend has a few Infiniti Qx56s and Qx80s. On the older car, his driver changed the lights over to white LED. It may sound odd, but I found that the bright white LED bulbs on the inside make the car feel clinical and cold, while the boring standard ones give it a warm feeling.
@@mattsbeamer You reckon LED's would be safe to use? With my E46 the LED's kept on lighting up veeeeeeeeeery lightly (you really had to take notice!). Ta

Bro my f20 2012 has different kind of light, it can’t even explain it but it’s not a bulb

4:51 Bloody BMW run their entire aftersales operation like this, making you buy the entire module even if it's just one tiny bit you need to fix the problem. So wasteful, surely somewhere at BMW is a parts bin full of those clips.
I agree, its such a shame. People need to be careful when buying a used unit, incase these clips are missing :)
