- The Galaxi Roller Coaster at Joyland Amusement Park in Lubbock, Texas is a fun little coaster. I was able to film a front, back, and middle seat ride during an ACE South Centrals ERT session during the West Texas Roundup on July 5, 2019. The owners of the park are quite friendly and it is a great park to visit if you ever drop by Lubbock. The park also has an amazing collection of old classic flat rides.

This is actually a pretty well designed coaster!
This was from white swan park in Pittsburgh...I rode it back in the 80s when it was there
I live in Lubbock and ride this when we go every fall. It’s a tame little coaster, but it is fun. I wish the park had something more extreme. I know they bought, but never set up (for unknown reasons) Greezed Lightnin’ from Astroworld, I miss that park and ride from when I was growing up in the Houston area.
The back car appeared to give the best ride. Sorry to hear that this little park closed.

I think this is the one I rode with my dad, like 12 years ago. I normally hate rollercoasters but this one was pretty tame. Had a great time. :) How long has it been there?
I tried to look it up on the roller coaster database rcdb.com to see when it was installed but it had no date. I think it has been there since the park opened.
@@johnychen That would be abnormally long since it opened in 1948, and i dont think these types of rollercoasters were manufactured back then!
This was added in 1990 or 91, it was at a similar little park just outside of Pittsburgh called White Swan Park. I rode this coaster at that White Swan. I think Joyland bought several of White Swan's rides when the park had to be closed due to eminent domaining the property for a damn highway interchange in 1989. My dad's company had the company picnic there every summer.
