Small children do not manipulate, they are simply not capable of this yet! They have needs and follow their instincts, and we as parents should respond accordingly. Later on, we set an example, and this is how children learn respect and respecting boundaries. The time comes when you can talk to a child and discuss things with them and talk about your needs and that respect and consideration works both ways etc. But babies and small children simply need our love, comfort and presence.End of.
