I have lived around Epping Forrest for most of my life so know it fairly well. It is very beuatiful, and in Autumn the colours are stunning but at night it can be very creepy and spooky. It's very interesting as in the video it mentions about the ghostly drumming. 3 friends and me actaully expirienced that near Lougton Camp quite a few years back when we woud drive to parts of the forest at night with torches (like you do as teenagers with their first cars). We coukd not get out of the trees and back to the cars quick enough. It was terryfying and just happend very suddenly!!. There was the sound of a drum beating or drums and we could hear movement all around us like people moving. The Hangmans Hill thing of cars going up the in neutral is a known optical illusion but still looks impressive.
I totally agree with you. I have lived near the forest for a few years now and it's usually always a different story to go there at night. Creepy!! But awesome to hear about those drumming sounds. Must have been pretty frightening. Hangman's hill's a bit strange: It does really look like you'd be going uphill but the fact of the matter is that it is just an optical illusion yes.
@@ghostfindergeneral9851 Also had a friend who was driving on the road between Wake Arms roundabout and Ambresbury Banks. He said a girl or a woman all dressed in white suddenly stepped from the side of the road causing him to swerve and hit the brakes. He got out of thr car as he thought he had hit her but there was no one there!! He also thought what was she doing in the forest in the dark at 1 am anyway? There was no sign of her. When he went back into his car quite shaken up the engine cut out!! which it had never done before. The interesting thing was he did know that a 'ghostly' figure of a woman or girl 'all dressed white' has been reported on this road many times over the years and that also the electronics had been to cut out in this part of the road. I had just read all this at that the time in a book of Essex Ghost Stories. When I showed it to him he could not believe what he was reading. He had no prior knowledge of that story at all. I know a lot of this stuff sounds like 'Urban Myths' but hearing an eye witness accounts from someone you know is a different thing all together. I think it changed his view of the paranormal. There is lot of parnormal occurances in the forest for sure. I could do a ghost tour of the forest!!
@@bgfd1 Sounds like you are a true " Haunted Epping Forest Specialist ". Very interesting to hear about the Wake Arms Roundabout too as it is indeed meant to be very haunted and apparently there have been a lot of reports of ghosts over there over the years without forgetting about the engine cut outs.
Much thanks for this thoroughly atmospheric film sequence!. As per usual, materialistic 'science' is left floundering in the world of paranormal phenomena.
Driven around here at night quite a few times as my brother lives nearby in Buckhurst Hill. The roundabout in the clearing of the dense forest by the Miller & Carter steakhouse has got a bit of a creepy feel about it with the fog in the cold months, not surprised at all from this video to hear it’s meant to be haunted.
Enjoyed the footage, actually pretty creepy to watch! I thought the tree looked like a person too! I know the place quite well, very special and full of history.
I have so many horror stories from growing up in Epping. Unexplainable things. I don’t believe in ghosts, but I can’t explain some things I’ve seen here. I still think it’s beautiful round these parts and definitely worth the walks, but this forest isn’t normal. Ironically, the hunting lodge (specifically downstairs) is one of the places that feels most comforting, safe even.
Seems creepy when you put that music on. I take walks in epping forest. Can confirm there's nothing ominous or sinister about it. Just a bunch of trees and pretty bird songs with the occasional quack in the distance
me and a friend was fishing one night near to the wake arms cant remember the ponds name but was awoken by the sound of my friend gary bein apparently dragged into the lake by some unseen thing fuck we was packed up and headed off in about 2mins never fished that lake again

Thank you! I'm sorry about that. You are not even the first one to tell me that. However; I have taken that into a serious consideration and I think that at least some of my latest videos have less of that problem. That was my second video after all anyway. I'll put some serious effort into my future videos so this type of comment wouldn't hopefully come no more:)
Hi. Love the footage. I am actually writing a novel based in London about the most infamous hitman on Earth being hunted by 7 assassins and this forest is being used by one of them. May I have your permission to use some of this footage in a potential book trailer? I think it's really well done.
Hello! And thank's a lot for liking the video:) Your novel sounds super interesting and I do grant you permission to use my footage! However; If you can give any credits to me that would be appreciated but not mandatory. Good Luck for your novel & I hope it'll be a successful one!
Not tryna be rude but mate I live in Epping forest I would know if something is wrong or there is a suicide pool or it is like the most dangerous place in England wouldn’t I ?
Well, you aint the first one to say that BUT according to some no one really knows where the suicide pool is located exactly. I seen many pools over there but then which one of them is the one? Hard to tell but maybe it is either hidden somewhere or maybe it is indeed one of the ponds about or maybe its just a myth...
@@ghostfindergeneral9851 I don’t believe the pool is haunted or draws people to their doom… that’s rubbish. But that poor young lad during Covid did get the taxi to Epping Forest late at night and from reading between the lines did wander into the water and sadly pass away. Not sure if it was known as a “suicide pool” before then though

It surely gets creepy at night and especially during fog!
🤪🤣
Great mood music.
Cheers!
The pollarded hornbeam and beeches make it look spooky at dusk, especially in winter.
Roundabout certainly fatal as the driver seems to have forgotten to use his headlights. Great spooky music though!
Oh yes!
I've heard of Dick Turpin.
Beautiful and haunting

🤣 Actually there are many trees looking like creatures 😳 🤣 But that's due to forest workers cutting and trimming them.

'Belief' per se, has nothing to do with it, for it tends to indicate a 'fixed' perspective on any type of non-material phenomena.
Luv this th u . Send more

You mean suicide pond or the lost pond?
I been there around 2am in the morning, pitch black, surprised we we're the only ones
I used to take a shortcut through Epping Forrest on my way hitchhiking back home from practice. Guess I was really lucky.

Yh true
But absolutely! I didn't even realize until now. Thank's for bringing it up:)

It’s just off of Avey Lane

Go and walk around the forest on your own at 2am then… anyone can walk there or drive through it during the day

The suicide pool referred to is Lost Pond. It's a short walk from Loughton Camp.

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Does anyone know where the satanic tree is with the writing on ? I want to make a video and can’t find it’s location
Apparently no one really knows exactly where cause the same very thing applies for the pond..
Thanks Morgz for sharing
A forest by night
Epping Forest is not Evil, don't be so dramatic.
I met the Gods there back 1991. Epping forest is my temple.
The hangman hill thing is clearly going downhill so it dont make sense lol
