Agreed. Pure speculation, but even if SEGA and Sony had a 10-year contract, I think part of the decision for SEGA to not renew with Sony is because there's no Vita successor. I'll miss playing Project Diva on my Vita, but at least I also own a Switch.

Ya know, I was one of the people that basically lost hope for Project Diva (or even Mirai at that point) coming to the Nintendo Switch. Then as I was waking up yesterday a friend on Discord posted to our server's gaming channel with a link to the trailer you have running under your commentary. I was skeptical at first, but I saw the effort put into the video and the authenticity of it etc and I shed a manly tear of excitement. Mega 39s is based on Future Tone (I know you notice the similar song duration bar on the bottom and other similar mechanics if you watch the trailer closely), so we essentially are getting a potential portable version (unless you solely plan on playing it in Docked mode) of Future Tone! I'll likely primarily being playing it in tablet/portable mode (aside from a possible Twitch stream here or there), and my Switch will finally come with me on my anime convention (and otherwise) trips in 2020! I'm also hyped that the 10 new songs to the series are also coming out as paid DLC for the PS4 version of Future Tone sometime in 2020! Thanks for the video and I admire your self control in public places! I dunno if I could do it xD

I don’t think censorship is the reason we haven’t seen them in PD games, I am pretty sure it was an issue with licensing the characters. I would love to see both of these characters in the game, but unless they are going to be in the 10 new songs, they will once again be excluded, considering 90 of the songs are rereleases of previous games with the exception of if they port Gumi’s songs from Mirai.

I'm a super big switch fan and finally being able to play a project diva game on a portable console is even more exciting. I only have future tone and sometimes I wish I could just lay down on my bed or take the game with me
I was hype for this game when I saw the reveal. But then I realised that there is actually not that much new things. Only 10 new songs, the rest is from Future Tone. The gameplay is the same as Future Tone. The modules are most likely to be from Future Tone. The shader is not new either, it's the one used in Two Faced Lovers, Oha Yodel and a few other songs. It just means that Sega was lazy and took everything from Future Tone instead of making a new game. And all the new songs will be in Future Tone as dlc. If you already have Future Tone, with what they revealed at the moment, the only interesting thing is the new mode. However, if you don't have Future Tone and only have a Switch, this game is clearly worth buying. After so many years without a new game, I was just expecting a completly new game with 30 or 40 new songs, not just half of Future Tone with 10 new songs. Even if I'm disapointed by this reveal, I'm still happy that we actually got something and it's even better that we finally have Miku on Switch. It just could have been a lot better. Also they might be lazy with the new songs and just take the dances from Magical Mirai. That's already what they did for Alien Alien and 39 music. I'm still going to buy it because it's Miku on Switch.
Think of this though: Even if you have FT on PS4 and a Switch, I think it’s worth purchasing it since you can play whatever song is in Mega39s from FT on the go, something that is difficult to do with the PS4.
@@BlakeTheNerd yeah but the 10 ne2 songs for this game are coming to future tone ps4, l buying the doc for both future tone and buy the switch game as I prefer the PlayStation controller and buttons over a and b so I still play future tone more than this one and future tone has way more songs but yeah it be fun to struggle again when I so use to PlayStation control scemes and having a b to press instead of triangle and square is going to heavily screw me over and since it's switch it's probably going back to 30fps so that will screw me over as well
Yeah the shader isnt new, but it feels like they modified it a bit? idk still pretty cool Also I'm very happy for the people who already own future tone because they can get the new songs as dlc and everyone is happy and not left out! (praying for a western release, but knowing them they most likely will have one, fingers crossed nevertheless)
I don't think it has anything to do with Sony's censorship. I'm sure that is a concern, but not a major one. The bigger issue is that mobile gaming is dominant in Japan - which is Project Diva's largest market, and Sony doesn't have a portable gaming platform anymore. Now Sony isn't being completely left out, since I hear most of the songs are going to be relistings of other Project Diva songs - except for 10 new ones, which will also be added to Future Tone on the PS4 via DLC. Personally, I'm really hoping for a physical worldwide release, as well as a physical worldwide release of Future Tone DX, since I'd really, really like to get a physical copy of that. Wouldn't mind seeing a port to the PC and Xbox as well, maybe through GamePass as a digital only title until they can get a fanbase established.

It was playable on the Miku Expo Concerts in Europe so I'm pretty sure it will be localized in the US and Europe pretty soon. Sadly the line was too long so I couldn't try it out myself sadly.

I used to think that If a miku game would be in the Nintendo console, it would be the Project Mirai series since 3 game are released to the 3ds (the first 2 game Has been released but not in the USA here. Project mirai DX is the 3rd game of the mirai series) but when I saw this trailer and saw the project DIVA logo. I LOST MYSELF!!!! That’s how excited I am. Now I really really REALLY want a switch just for this BEAUTIFUL LOOKING game and EVERYTHING in the switches library of games is just FILLER to me!!!! Now I gotta save up for the Switch and this game
The thing is sega always made PD an easy to convert/port game. Modders can convert PDX into PDFT now. And 39s is a simple port for the switch which is incredible since u get the arcade experience on the go. The game isnt something new but i think itll be the best move for the PD games. And the simplistic shader style is overdue. We had it since PDextend and its a shame cuz i think based on 39s having just 101 songs compared to PDFT which has 200 sega could have used a more advanced shader but i hope they will add all the 200 songs somehow
Today’s my birthday and my boyfriend surprised me with a switch! I’m most excited to play these among others: -Breath of the wild 1&2 -Harvest Moon FoMT remake -Animal Crossing -& now THIS GAME!!!!!
The only thing is that the Pro controller has an weird dpad thing that if you press down it sometimes goes left or right etc.. this might mess up some mashing

So hyped that a new game for project diva is finally gonna be arriving soon + new songs will be added at least, problem is for me I don't have a switch still at the moment and I don't even have a PS4 for any future new songs ahead that will be added. So I hope to save up and get the switch with the PDM39 in the future and have a blast with anything in the future 👍

I'm a super big switch fan and finally being able to play a project diva game on a portable console is even more exciting. I only have future tone and sometimes I wish I could just lay down on my bed or take the game with me

I was hype for this game when I saw the reveal. But then I realised that there is actually not that much new things. Only 10 new songs, the rest is from Future Tone. The gameplay is the same as Future Tone. The modules are most likely to be from Future Tone. The shader is not new either, it's the one used in Two Faced Lovers, Oha Yodel and a few other songs.
It just means that Sega was lazy and took everything from Future Tone instead of making a new game. And all the new songs will be in Future Tone as dlc.
If you already have Future Tone, with what they revealed at the moment, the only interesting thing is the new mode.
However, if you don't have Future Tone and only have a Switch, this game is clearly worth buying.
After so many years without a new game, I was just expecting a completly new game with 30 or 40 new songs, not just half of Future Tone with 10 new songs.
Even if I'm disapointed by this reveal, I'm still happy that we actually got something and it's even better that we finally have Miku on Switch. It just could have been a lot better.
Also they might be lazy with the new songs and just take the dances from Magical Mirai. That's already what they did for Alien Alien and 39 music.
I'm still going to buy it because it's Miku on Switch.
Think of this though: Even if you have FT on PS4 and a Switch, I think it’s worth purchasing it since you can play whatever song is in Mega39s from FT on the go, something that is difficult to do with the PS4.

@@BlakeTheNerd yeah but the 10 ne2 songs for this game are coming to future tone ps4, l buying the doc for both future tone and buy the switch game as I prefer the PlayStation controller and buttons over a and b so I still play future tone more than this one and future tone has way more songs but yeah it be fun to struggle again when I so use to PlayStation control scemes and having a b to press instead of triangle and square is going to heavily screw me over and since it's switch it's probably going back to 30fps so that will screw me over as well
Yeah the shader isnt new, but it feels like they modified it a bit? idk still pretty cool
Also I'm very happy for the people who already own future tone because they can get the new songs as dlc and everyone is happy and not left out!

I don't think it has anything to do with Sony's censorship. I'm sure that is a concern, but not a major one. The bigger issue is that mobile gaming is dominant in Japan - which is Project Diva's largest market, and Sony doesn't have a portable gaming platform anymore. Now Sony isn't being completely left out, since I hear most of the songs are going to be relistings of other Project Diva songs - except for 10 new ones, which will also be added to Future Tone on the PS4 via DLC. Personally, I'm really hoping for a physical worldwide release, as well as a physical worldwide release of Future Tone DX, since I'd really, really like to get a physical copy of that. Wouldn't mind seeing a port to the PC and Xbox as well, maybe through GamePass as a digital only title until they can get a fanbase established.

This is news... so glad to hear about it. Can't wait to get my hand on it. I figured Miku would be on Switch at some point just wasn't expecting it this soon.
It was playable on the Miku Expo Concerts in Europe so I'm pretty sure it will be localized in the US and Europe pretty soon.

I love this art style. It looks a lot like the style used in wowaka (Rest in peace) Ura Omote Lovers PV in Future Tone. Ive been crying for a Project Diva game since Switchs release and now its coming!!
I’m happy for Switch owners that they’re finally getting Project Diva. I have all the NA PlayStation ones and am really glad I got them. Big Miku fan.

I just noticed that in every Miku series the hair is always different lengths (ex. PSP vs dt, f-x vs arcade and ft)
Yeah Hatsune Miku project VR didn't do too well on Steam but I guarantee you if they release f and f 2nd on steam I could die happy

I used to think that If a miku game would be in the Nintendo console, it would be the Project Mirai series since 3 game are released to the 3ds (the first 2 game Has been released but not in the USA here. Project mirai DX is the 3rd game of the mirai series) but when I saw this trailer and saw the project DIVA logo. I LOST MYSELF!!!! That’s how excited I am. Now I really really REALLY want a switch just for this BEAUTIFUL LOOKING game and EVERYTHING in the switches library of games is just FILLER to me!!!! Now I gotta save up for the Switch and this game

The thing is sega always made PD an easy to convert/port game. Modders can convert PDX into PDFT now. And 39s is a simple port for the switch which is incredible since u get the arcade experience on the go. The game isnt something new but i think itll be the best move for the PD games. And the simplistic shader style is overdue. We had it since PDextend and its a shame cuz i think based on 39s having just 101 songs compared to PDFT which has 200 sega could have used a more advanced shader but i hope they will add all the 200 songs somehow

The only thing is that the Pro controller has an weird dpad thing that if you press down it sometimes goes left or right etc.. this might mess up some mashing
