There was another video where Anna and Meryl interview each other and Anna asks her "Who was your favorite person to play" and Meryl goes "Oh! I should say y--"
@KEENG LOUIE um. Did you watch the video? The interviewer asked “who would you chose to play you in a Broadway musical about your life” and she replied “Meryl Streep”.
“There’s room for everyone in fashion” idk if anyone truly grasps how important this answer is in context to who Anna is and what Vogue has been known for the past 50 years. I feel like this answer is the culmination of many decades of progress in the industry that’s forced both Vogue and Anna to reckon with the times. Very, very happy to see it.
She has a great sense of humor. People often mistakenly assume she’s being rude. No wonder most British celebrities say they miss British humor once they move to America.
It’s subtle, the way she rehearsed and orchestrated an entire office to seem like a graceful dance around her, is exactly what she is who she is and why she is the best conductor of the fashion symphony. AW is an irreplaceable master in her domain and she makes it look so easy.
@@Fakhrihilmi69 yes it is and beautifully so. And the person writing the first comment is very creative and writes beautifully almost like a writer. But an untalented fool like yourself wouldnt understand and for you its not that deep.
I love that the 90s-2000s the world used to make her infamous, and the 2010s we've grown to love her - and now in 2022 she continues to keep her decisive, fun, and relaxed interview vibes.
I am no fashion diva, do not read Vogue, but adore Anna. She is so herself and just has such a presence. I loved her answer to where she indicates that she texts in order to set up phone calls. Very considerate. One never knows if someone is about to have lunch, has a splitting headache, is waiting for an important call, if they need to gather documents, etc, to have information needed for said phone call, etc. I found that not only thoughtful of Anna, but immensely practical.
Riggt?😂😂😂 And no statue of liberty anywhere near in the view 😂😂😂 I was like "where?" stretching my neck to see it as if I could 😂🤦🏻♀️ but in even what they showed there's no sign of that statue whatsoever...
She does look amazing though. Love her dress. Even with sunglasses, her face, and the way she carries herself, she looks and sounds as she did 10/15 years ago.
When he asked the best collection, I was expecting her to say John Galliano and she did, of course that moment in fashion and his shows were magic so elevated
Wintour is a brilliant business woman who quickly understood the effects of personal reputation and image and twisted things around to her business' advantage. I remember her filming the "September issue" not long after the Devil wears Prada movie came out. She's more confortable behind the scenes but she made an effort to improve on the bad rap she was starting to gain, before getting canceled. Same with these media appearances - you can tell she's an introvert and not enjoying them much, but she champions trough them
It seems she;'s really warmed over a bit about The Devil Wears Prada. When she answered "Meryl Streep," I instantly liked her 1000% more! Putting aside TDWP, consider her still answering "Meryl Streep" if the movie hadn't been made-- it only seems right!
I went to the Vogue offices once as a teenager to drop off something when I was doing an internship in NYC. It was the most intimidating place I’ve ever been!
The Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep nod was clever lol. Also Meryl Streep is the perfect person to play her in a movie about her life, can we get that pleaseee.
What I would like to see is Anna Wintour do her "Life in Looks" segment, and talk about some of those Haute Couture Chanel suits she wears, and other looks.
If I were to be asked 73 questions, I would like one to be “what word comes to mind when you hear the initials AW?” Respect would be my answer. Nothing but respect for this brilliant woman. More so since she chose W. Smith to single out.
If this was an attempt to 'humanize' her, it seemed strained. What is the purpose of firing inane questions? It did not give you any insight into her and was as pesky as a fly buzzing around. People should accept others the way they are. Do you ask General Patton to try to be more personable like Johnny Carson? No. Leave her be the way she is. I like her authenticity, her directness, her ability to command and lead. I don't want her to be anything else, just herself. I love her dresses, the vibrant colors, the concept of keeping shoes simple and the glittering string of jewels as a medley around her neck. This is the grand dame of couture fashion and she never disappoints. Always reinventing herself and the magazine. A formidable person. We are lucky to have her in our time and space. Brava Anna!

anne hathaway calling and asking that question with anna’s receptionist in the background is such an inception like moment
I was hoping she’d call her Andy or Emily
With Anne saying “asking for a friend” cracked me up 😂

Nice to see her receptionist is not a size 0.
Choosing Meryl Streep to play yourself is so meta and very Devil Wears Prada of her

Only it’s forced progress, not consensual. For that reason I wouldn’t say it’s a happy occasion, although I do tend to gear towards pessimism.
She may have said it, but I doubt she means it
Yeah. I hear you. Interesting statement and makes sense. Thx❤
But missing Lagerfeld's opinion over literally anyone less toxic...

Power and confidence, her best accessory.
I think she is wearing the same necklace as her last interview, and she has NOT aged. She looks great. Amazing lady. ♡
