    Absolutely love that they are increasing common green areas in the city. THIS is how you urban plan; not more parking lots and lanes of traffic.

    Very exciting to see all the improvements being made to the Trocadéro! I’m all for adding more public green areas. Outside of delivery trucks, I have no idea why anyone would WANT to drive in Paris. It’s a huge pain! Oh, and for the love of all that is holy, don’t rent a car in Paris just to leave. It’s a pain to get out of the city and it usually costs more! 😂

    • @christophermichaelclarence6003

      People would drive around Paris just to get to work. The Olympic Games set up would make the trafic worsen. Espcially for buses and trucks
      Been living in Ile de France for almost 3 decades, I always use the Public Transit (dont have the driving license 😁)
      Gave you thumbs up.

    • @Nubianette
      @Nubianette 7 місяців тому

      People who work outside of Paris often need to drive. I know someone who’s a landscape architect. Her projects are all over France. She’s also originally from another area of France, so she already had a car. There’s many reasons why people have cars in Paris. But, as a tourist, unless you want to pay extra for parking, and you really know what you’re doing, it wouldn’t be my recommendation.

      I'm a big fan of public transit, too. I think they're planning on adding more park and rides for commuters to drive to the periphery and then metro in, which seems a good solution for those not near an RER stop.

    My friend and I have a photo of us in the plaza with the Eiffel Tower behind us. WE, at that time, could continue down the stairs and walk under the Tower. You can't do that anymore and that's just too bad. It will be great to see how it actually ends up after the Olympics are finished.

    Great memories of Trocadero throughout my childhood. My best souvenir of it was taken a picture of Eiffel Tower before the countdown and moving on the 21st century during the Jack Chirac Era and Zinedine Zidane
    Back at that time in in the 80's, 90's and early 2000’s, you can just freely walk underneath the Eiffel Tower until 2015-2016. Gold old times
    Couldn’t care less about the Olympic Games though. They’re just making the Traffic Jam worse which eventually would piss the French off

    When I was in Paris back in '89, one evening, several of us were out to dinner with our chaperone and she took some of us to see the Eiffel Tower this way but in the evening. Glad to see the barriers are gone (they were still up when I took my wife and cousin and his wife to Paris and out to see the Eiffel Tower back in '22).
