Irons is a genuinely deep thinking, philosophical and wise man. He is right, we all have good and bad within us. Extremes and small amounts. It just depends which one we display. That's been the way for thousands of years.
Not only is he a great actor but he is a clever man as well. He has a heart. Too many of the paparazzi and press glorify celebrities who are poor role models. This man is an excellent role model in his work ethic and in his values he holds dear. Bless him!
I am so grateful for you. Every time I meet a true person in life, I am reminded of my own way and purpose. Thank you for your work, which goes far beyond just acting.
I love his philosophy and I completely agree with his ideal way of looking at things, superb! I, too, wished America would've handled that situation much better than they did...
Seriously, I came here from listening to Boris Karloff reading Tales of the Frightened, and at first I was like, "OMG it's the same voice!" Love him. (And Boris.)
What an intelligent and wise person. I love his way of thinking in respect to the 9/11 tragedy. It's true; violent retaliation is the wrong way to go about things if you want to create a better world for everyone.
your so right! What he says is all true and it´s so clear to see what he means.I think we all once thought that way ..but most of us do not know how to put it in words...or even to do it..we always loose in this situations when we feel more anger than appreciation for the whole situation... kind of sad...
God Bless Mr. Jeremy Irons, you reminds of the famous Jesuit philosopher. Karl Rahner, who stated, "... for the ones with great difficulty and no clear evidence of success plot away at the task of awakening in just a few men, a small spark of faith, of hope and of charity." A.M.D.G.
Seriously though, I think he's right. Realizing that we all have the potential to be "evil". It's like looking back at people in history and thinking, "oh well of course I would never do that" and thinking you would have been different and better. But of course you don't really know, do you? You might've acted differently, but you might not have. I just think it's important for us all to realize we have the potential to be malevolent and then guard against it. Anyway, Jeremy Irons is the best.
@VIA919 - Jeremy Irons wasn't in Die Hard; that was Alan Rickman, who plays Snape in the Harry Potter movies. But I can see why you mixed them up. They are pretty similar in terms of looks and deep voices. :)
Jeremy Irons was at his best in the not so well known.. BBC drama - The Dream. It's a short story by Dostoyevsky that sums up the hidden agenda of the Bible. The agenda of tearing down this existing system and building a better world. To view it - Google - Part 1 - The Dream of the Ridiculous Man - It's on available on utube in 5 parts. There a several versions.. but only the BBC version features Jeremy Irons..
so basically is he saying once he acts as a murderer or something like that he cant let go of that personal side of his life. im not saying he goes killing innocent people but has familiar emotions
ok ok im pretty sure this could go on for a while because we both believe we are right or rather our opinion is the right one. so i know when someone is not going to be swayed. i respect your opinion on irons statement but i truly do believe that we have the possibility to become murderers etc it is simply whether or not we choose to make that change (also could you please tell me where i negated myself this is not me trying to score points i am just curious as i was pretty sure i didnt thnx)
A truly great actor and a very thoughtful intelligent person. some great points he made about the world becoming more urban and acting more like rats...the 1st reaction is not always the correct one.what a beautiful man
I hold so much respect for this man's acting ability, but a thousand times more for his wisdom.
The greatest actor the world has ever seen. Much respect to you Sir. You are a legend 💪
What an intelligent, down to earth, lovely human being...
How can he be so perfect in soul, mind and body? Is he a kind of angel or what?
He's so wise. I listen to him to learn how to speak every now and then.
I love the fact he gave serious answer to a silly quesiton like 'ARE YOU EVIL?' instead of looking 'wtf are you talking about?'
He has the best voice acting voice for a villain...
I WANT MY GPS TO TALK LIKE HIM
its so weird closing your eyes and picturing scar saying all this.
Wow this is truly a man who knows what he believes in and voices his opinion in a powerful way.

Such a wise man. We are all capable of both good and evil; we all possess the shadow Carl Jung described.
He can read Snooki's biography and make it sound intelligent.
It's so funny to hear Scar talking about the goodness of man
I am so grateful for you. Every time I meet a true person in life, I am reminded of my own way and purpose. Thank you for your work, which goes far beyond just acting.
he's ridiculously intelligent.
"the instinctive reaction, is not always the best one... act in a different way."
that was powerful.
I love his philosophy and I completely agree with his ideal way of looking at things, superb! I, too, wished America would've handled that situation much better than they did...

I find Jeremy Irons' voice incredibly soothing and epic. And I'm straight.

Oh Scar, you're back! :)
Seriously, I came here from listening to Boris Karloff reading Tales of the Frightened, and at first I was like, "OMG it's the same voice!"

What an intelligent and wise person. I love his way of thinking in respect to the 9/11 tragedy. It's true; violent retaliation is the wrong way to go about things if you want to create a better world for everyone.
Reporter: Are you evil?
Jeremy Irons: Would you like to know my little secret... I killed Mufasa!
He's a great actor, he's done a great job as the voice of Scar
your so right! What he says is all true and it´s so clear to see what he means.I think we all once thought that way ..but most of us do not know how to put it in words...or even to do it..we always loose in this situations when we feel more anger than appreciation for the whole situation...

@VIA919 - Oooh, okay. I thought you meant the original Die Hard. Sorry!
Very wise advice -- and from a actor too! No wonder he does not fit the Hollywood mold. He's too clever by half.
Jeremy has made the most adorable son in the world(MAX IRONS

His voice sounds like Hugh Laurie somehow.
Jeremy isn't a "rogue actor", he's the second coming.
