  • An early morning tour of the flower farm cutting a bespoke wholesale order for my friend and client @Fleur_Provocateur . I've cut a little extra, not exactly the same as her order, but similar, and I'm making a piece with what I've cut so that you can see the kind of work she might make with my harvest. It's very good as a grower to imagine how the client might work with the material I grow, and have an idea how this material will behave in a vase. And I hope it's interesting for you to see too. I have lots of detailed online floristry demos coming up so do book a place if you'd like to know more.

Apologies for a long post, but I must share this. . .The other evening, after a long work day, I walked through the garden for a brief escape with pruners in hand. Though my beautiful tall bearded irises were nearly gone for the season, I cut a few smaller Japanese blooms of purple and white, pale green parsley umbrels, blue flowered comfrey, Solomon's Seal, small red roses, wild buttercups, alliums, crimson clover, Bachelor Buttons, Mock orange double blooms, Lambs ear, and rosemary.
The result was a lovely, informal yet pleasing bouquet. I was delighted!
I have you to thank, Georgie, for opening my eyes to possibilities, to creating an arrangement with what is available in my garden.
You are a wonderful educator! Your down-to-earth style paired with creative expertise has truly inspired me to do more than previously imagined.
    Thank you!
Happy Mother's Day to you who are a mentor to so many!

Georgie, I adore your channel, your energy and knowledge. Thank you for all the beauty. One step removed from the floral beauty, your stone studio is gorgeous and I wonder what color you have painted the door and window trim. Lovely. Thanks again for all the inspiration.

I noticed lots of ladybirds in the garden early last month. I have not had black fly on my broad beans this year, however I have noticed a lot of aphids on the rose buds this week! Gorgeous apricot foxgloves- so pretty! Gorgeous Ranunculus, Georgie. Mine aren't flowering yet. Hopefully soon.

Agreed, so many aphids. They are huge too. My lupins are struggling to cope.

@@undinia they are lupin aphids. They decimated my plants a few years ago. The ladybirds didn't seem to touch them so as soon as I see them now, I rub them off quickly. So far, so good- my lupins have stayed well since I started doing this! happy gardening 🙂

I love the gray-green foliage of rue, but I am so allergic to it, that I have had to completly rid my garden of it.
