This is the best draft I've ever watched in the highlights after years for the league to live in the shadows of other big-time organizations.
5his draft highlighted how dumb some of these organizations are. Strategically, why would you let one team take two of the best rebounding and shot blockers? Why would you let the team with a coach that has WNBA, overseas, and NBA assistant coaching experience win the draft like that? There is a good chance Chicago over the next season gonna be tuffffff.

These players are great just like many before them. If Caitlin didn't exist nothing would have changed. She is the person who got eyes on the game and people seen these other players through that. I have watched women's college for years and seen many players far better than players 2 - 36 last night and no one seen them. All of Indiana's home and away games will sell out and that will be the only team to do that. Right or wrong this is all the result of Caitlin.

Actually its the result of THE 1ST EVER MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR AD PROMOTION CAMPAIGN in the women's game. Caitlin Clark was merely the beneficiary selected for demographic reasons to be "the face" of that promotional campaign. If there were zero promotion campaign and Caitlin Clark had the exact same season, NONE of this so-called "Clark effect" would be happening, including Iowa attendance, viewership, merchandise growth. "Promotion advertising" grows the sport, not a lone player.
Kelsey Plum and other players broke many of the same scoring records Clark broke just a few years earlier so why didn't they generate the same or similar "effects?" Simple: because their was no multi-million dollar ad promotion bombardment across media platforms to tout these prior player's accomplishments. No wonder these players were never heard of by the general public. Kelsey Plum never got paid to do TV commercials while playing ball in college, so she never became a household name. This 1st women's basketball massive Ad campaign that chose Clark as "the face" is the first to promote the women's game in many places where its never been before - Morning network news shows, Nightly network news shows, Assorted corporate sponsors and TV commercials, Tik Tok and all social medias, NBA All-Star weekends, Wall Street and the NY Stock Exchange.
Like any other product sold in the marketplace, its the promotion campaign that drive awareness, consumption, and growth. Without a promotion campaign, even the best product will get little awareness. Clark should thank the Ad promoters for selecting her as "the face" and exponentially increasing her notoriety...no other top player in the game ever received the financial benefit Clark has of such free and ubiquitous promotion - which Clark already has and will continue to cash-in on by the millions.

I started watching because women were playing basketball. So stop giving all the credit to Caitlyn. Yes she is great. But as you can see, by the final four, she can be easily stopped as well. So her popularity is only as great as she is promoted...
