I was able to go out with Dan on this trip and I can tell you guys what a first rate captain he is. Excellent knowledge on the gear, locating spots and getting fish to the boat. He is even a better guy to spend the day with on the boat. Hard to escape someone on a boat 20 miles out for 8 hours. If you have not yet, consider joining his Patreon. It is one of the ways in which he keeps Low Country Fishing churning. Honestly, I get so much value out of the videos it has 100 percent increased my fishing game. This video and run has given me a ton more confidence in open water. Glad to be part of this community.

How do you know how the weather and waves are going to be a couple miles off shore? I use tides and weather and salt strong but they do not have the weather for the reefs.

@@LowCountryFishing Is your Sea Hunt considered a "Bay" boat then? ...requiring fairly calm seas to go 21 miles offshore. I was in the area back in March of 2021 with my Mako 214 but I couldn't find a window of opportunity to make it out to the JY reef. I was seeing mostly 3 to 5 foot seas.
