Great video dudeman! I love Heavy Metal but there are a lot of mid bands like most of the NWOBHM and NWOTHM bands, and older bands like Manilla Road and Cirith Ungol, good bands, just not amazing. My favorite Heavy Metal albums are all by: -Black Sabbath -Judas Priest -Iron Maiden -Def Leppard -Steel Panther -Mercyful Fate/King Diamond -Motorhead
Abigail is legendary! I've always had a soft spot for Them and Conspiracy, but Abigail has a tone and ambience the others can't quite match. Seeing The Crimson Idol on a best of all time list really surprised me, but I love that album to death. Blackie's vocals are truly amazing. As far as concept albums go, only the absolute perfection of Queensrÿche's Operation: Mindcrime ranks higher for me. Mindcrime also happens to be the best album ever recorded, regardless of artist, genre and time period.

A cool list, nice to see some rare choices like the Saxon album which is still my favorite of theirs too while it's somtimes a lower title on fans' lists, I love that damn album from back when they had that 'boogie metal' wipe they were almost like the Status Quo of heavy metal in the early days... 🥳
The Crimson Idol is the second best concept album in metal. Nothing will ever beat Operation Mindcrime but TCI is damn good. I don’t care what anyone says, Under Lock and Key is a masterpiece.
Loved the video and your sense of humor mate, keep it up with the great work. And while I don't completely agree with your list (which is natural of), it's an absolutely solid list, banger after banger
@RYDAHN666 I would definitely change the places of a couple of records (Painkiller, Powerslave and Holy Diver are my top 3), I personally prefer "Them" over Abigail by King Diamond and I would include Thundersteel by Riot instead of Saxon's Strong Arm Of The Law.
Classic Heavy Metal, my favorite music genre ever. Here's my list (not in order): - Black Sabbath: Paranoid, - Budgie: Never Turn Your Back on a Friend, - Rainbow: Rising, - Judas Priest: Stained Class, - Motörhead: Overkill, - Saxon: Wheels of Steel, - Iron Maiden: Iron Maiden, - Diamond Head: Lightning to the Nations, - Angel Witch: Angel Witch, - Venom: Welcome to Hell, - Scorpions: Blackout, - Accept: Restless and Wild, - Witchfinder General: Death Penalty, - Mercyful Fate: Melissa, - Satan: Court in the Act.
Hi "Poser", I very much like your list, all classics. Of course I might have chosen 15 different albums; Number of the Beast e.g., The Eagle has landed etc. And where are the Scorpions, Queensryche and Savatage? But as you said, we're all brothers in Metal and thank you for your inspirations 🤘🏻🎸
Great list of classics. I would have swapped out Dokken for Shout at the devil, but your right about George Lynch on that album, stellar guitar player.
Yes!!!!! Slave to the Grind, Powerslave, Rainbow Rising, Ride the Lightening, Crimson Idol and Holy Diver are all legendary albums!! Nothing wrong with Dokken, George Lunch is a total beast of a player! 🤘 I’d slip in Rust in Peace, Cowboys from Hell and October Rust from Type O Negative. 👍

Never apologize for what you like. Regardless of what metal purists say, it was all called metal at some point. Cream Magazine once called Boston, Heart, Styx, and Led Zeppelin heavy metal. Just because metal music got heavier over the years changes nothing. Also, heavy metal and Metal are sometimes very different things. And I would’ve picked Tooth and Nail or Back For The Attack, but Under Lock and Key is great as well.
ok, this is your list, and I appreciate your list, nicely put together.... but for my personal taste, there is too much missing: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Queensryche, Helloween, Blind Guardian....where are they? On the other Hand: many great Albums on the List, great to see some love for Dio, Priest and the KIng. Nice Shirt, got the same one!
I get where you’re coming from, to be clear this list is for Heavy Metal, the subgenre with Metal Music at large. For example, I covered Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer in my thrash metal video. For Helloween and Blind Guardian I personally consider them power metal so I wouldn’t consider them for this list. Appreciate the comment!
@RYDAHN666 ok, thanks for your explanation, so I might have misunderstood your approach, as far as those Bands go you have mentioned... keep up the good work
I actually like UDO solo over Accept with Steelhammer my fav. When I listen to UDO I question if I own anything else that is metal. Yes, Ride the Lightning is my fav from Metallica despite Master having some really awesome songs. Can’t say I’ve liked any 21st century song of theirs. Warlock Triumph and Agony and Krokus Blitz are two I really loved in the 80s and still do. Ozzy No More Tears amazing but also love No Rest for Wicked start to finish. Both are tons better than Moon to me. Kiss Revenge is great. Motley’s first 2. Dokken’s greatest hits are way more than enough of them for me. I’d choose Damn Yankees s/t over their gh let alone an album from them. Painkiller is awesome too, totally agree. Ok, that is metal beyond UDO too😊

Under Lock and Key??? Tooth and Nail or Back For the Attack are much better. Maiden Number of the Beast or 7th Son are also better. Where is the 80s prog metal and concept album masterpiece Queensryche Operation Mindcrime??? Then how about Dream Theater Images and Words, the pioneer of combining true metal heaviness and prog complexity?? Painkiller should be no. 1 as well.
@RYDAHN666 I am also not huge on QR but Operation Mindcrime to me is the best metal album of the 80s, just a perfect album start to finish with a great concept story in it. I'd rank it right up in there at the top along with Painkiller! Then DT was the one who turned me into a fan of complex style prog metal, combining the technicalities of Rush and the heaviness of metal, just brilliant musicians.
