Actually no not at all in fact they hate each other. The thing is with how they fight and there culture. Chatacan is close nit and are very independent and favor gorilla warfare while Krieg is detached and conforming and favors trench and sage warfare.
They may both be distinctive guardsmen regiments but the kriegs are incredibly loyal and suicidal which gives them their distinction while the catachans are just incredibly strong Rambos built for survival. Edit: kriegsmen seem suicidal
Remember the Krieg fighters are all brainwashed to the point where they fire things like Artillery upon their own forces in order to kill one enemy in the midst.
@@EthanKekmore like krieg dont value life at all, even prefer death in duty over it. atonement and all that. to me, suicidal implies actively seeking death, which they do not if it disobeys orders. they wouldnt really mesh well with catachans though i agree on that
So the flora and fauna of Catachan fought back against the Khornate invaders and then, after the daemons were slaughtered, returned to its natural equilibrium. I wonder if there is an implication there. Does the very ecosystem of Catachan consider the native Humans to be a natural part of the equilibrium? Does the planet own the Catachan residents as its own natural children while rejecting the warp-spawn? Or does the planet not really discriminate and the daemons actually destroyed themselves by charging into a deathtrap with no thought of strategy or long-term survival?
On Catachan, only the strongest, fastest, and most cunning survive. The planet's flora and fauna only avoid the Catachan barking toad. The planet takes evolutionary arms race to the extreme.
Nah, Catachan is an equal opportunity slaughterhouse. Catachan Jungle Fighters are the definition of "built different." Even then, I think that only like: a million are alive on the planet at any given time, if that.
Sort of, the human population is nomadic, not by choice, but because if they settle on a spot for too long the flora and fauna will swoop in and slaughter them
Well, now this kinda proves that Catachan was either made by tyranids or old ones themselves. The way the jungle/planet almost killed the warp invasion by itself is very interesting indeed as if the entire planet is made to be able to defend itself. Imagine if Eldar Exodites landed there before humans and were able to control it as they do with other planets!
There a reason why you can't invade Catachan: you canot settle in big number because the fauna and flora is that bad. The catachan devil is know to be drawed to big groups of peoples making impossible to expand to big. Catachans does survive on it because of being used to it and can go on their hown being mostly hable to dodge threats. Bit a standing and marching army is a diner bell ringing for the locals criters.
The line of Catachan minis needs to be updated to match the command squad and heavy weapons. The base infantry box is woefully outdated. With Catachan being a major aspect of the Indomitus Crusade, the Jungle Fighters should logically get some much needed attention and rules love. Granted, my faith in GW to do so is basically Nil, but one can always hope.
The Catachans perhaps are the best normal Soldiers of the Imperium, but they not directly Stronger than the Hordes of Chaos, but the Planet itself is a deadly Killer. A fun fact is that the Catachan Jungle Fighters are treated medically for quite some time and kept under strict quarantine until they can be used safely in the wider Empire. Why is that? Quite simply because of the merciless Davinist struggle for survival they have to wage on their planet, they have one of the best unchanged natural immune systems in all of humanity. Catachan, however, is a world full of dangerous viruses and bacteria that are only a "mild cold" for a Catachanian himself because they have adapted, but would kill just about anyone else in the Empire. Not to mention the diseases from which the Catachans themselves sometimes die in large numbers. ^^
I dont see your comment on them being Australian instead of vietnam veterans considering that Rambo was a vietnam vet and Vietnam was the samw terrain type as catachan while Australia is more arid in general.
Yeah like, that part literally had me tilt my head and go "Huh????", like dude, if you've even seen Predator or Rambo, you'd know that the Catachan fighters are all literally just cheesy 80's roided out action movie heroes like what you'd see in the US a lot back then
The whole Australia thing is literally only based on the whole wildlife craziness meme. There is no lore reason to make that claim. Yeah it dumb argument and it miss information at best. But hey it’s still better than female space marines
The deamons should count themselves lucky that they didn't meet the man, the myth, the legend, sly marbo if he had been present the invasion of catachan wouldn't have lasted more than a week even that's being generous on the deamons part.
Catach and Australia only have one thing in common they are both hash environments. But the people couldn't be more different. Australia is filled with a bunch of nannies. That need their government to make up every decision for them. Not like the Catach jungle fighters.
".. that makes me want to get a set of their models if they ever update them..." You know, I thought the same until I caught the last Battle Report on Warhammertv. In that battle they pitted Imperial Guard against the Kroot with their new rules. Naturally, the guard lost (typical, but I'd add that the only Catachan thing about that whole army were the miniatures- nothing on the board had the Catachan key word!), but it was a fun game to watch played out and I have to admit, the Catachan models really looked great. I broke down and purchased some that I found in Ebay and I was presently surprised! For such old sculpts, they were really nice and detailed. They were goofy and cartoonish in places, but as a rule they really grew on me as I assembled and painted them. My small platoon saw action this past Saturday and did fairly well. That Scout 6 rule really gets them into the midfield fast and tossing Straken with a squad into a Chimera and watching them plow into objectives with a murder of heavy bolter fire leading them was glorious. You should check them out!
Guilliman, arrives to Catachan to reinforce: Catachan warriors! I have come to reinforce against the Chaos forces! Catachan Sargeant, sipping a recaf with Catachan devil milk mix: Oh. So thats what that scream was. Thought it was Sargeant Harker.
I understand its not thier territory but buddy im sure some space marine chapter is like will give you all the guns you want for like 50 young catachans for astarte/primaris inductees...
The Raptors Chapter/Raven Guard would be an excellent candidate for this...Some of my personal regiment's lore (the Catachan 107th) is based off of the mentions of Catachans and Astartes working together in the Jungles of Armageddon. A novel based on Raptors and Catachans fighting together would be amazing.
@bobh9492 Never written. It is implied because Catachan regiments are elite and valuable...GW needs to get that memo and give us an update...but If a Marine chapter requested to pull candidates from Catachan, it's probable they would be authorized in Chapter sized amounts
yeah i bet alot of chapters would be lining up to get recruits from catachan....bigger strong faster than normal humans then put geneseed, then primaris them.....they would be massive.
4:30 it doesn't make sense that Catachan Jungle Fighters are inspired by Americans in Vietnam? What war do you think Rambo was a veteran of? What you said is like saying the Vostroyans are actually inspired by Americans from the Midwest.
Pretty sure catachan hostile life are related to the tyrannids at least there is a theory that the life forms evolved from them of course if that's true then the implications are that the tyrannids are far more ancient then anything. My theory is that they are the universe rest button traveling from one end to the other, clearing out all life as they go but that theory falls apart because old ones and stuff.
Even the Daemons of Khorne cannot conquer Catachan as soon as the trees started speaking Catachan.
Daemons: Invade Catachan to kill everything.
Catachan Jungle itself: Oooh fancy snacks!
Extra Spicy!
Catachan fighter: were being invaded by Daemons? Is it my birthday?!?
😂
It reminds me of an Asterix comic, with the villagers all singing Happy Birthday while Obelix fights entire Roman Legion by himself.
The catachans and deathnkorps of krieg must get along well 😂
