it's not very uncommon to not use reverse thrust
its not uncommon to not use reverse thrust if you're lightly loaded (fuel, cargo, pax)

The A330 is known as "Butter Machine" because of its extreme gear tilt allowing smoother landings.
And longer rollout tendency
That's why I always use the 330 in Flight sims

well thats because the autospoilers deteched when the wheels are moving at a speed [and more firm landing would have sped up that prosses]and extend in real life but with the reversers you cant use those untill the wheels also speed up
ofek shaltiel You got the gist of it. It's called a Weight-On-Wheels (W.O.W.) actuator. It just took the gear a little longer to support the full weight of the aircraft because of how smooth the landing was. Therefore, the extension of the spoilers got delayed.

My dad more than likely worked on this plane. He was an aircraft mechanic working in PHL at the international terminals for US Airways, mainly on their few a330s like this one. Awesome to think that he was part of the “magic” behind such a smooth and beautiful landing! Currently looking into ways to be a pilot now because of his influence. Miss ya dad. Missing US Airways as well ❤️
I loved us airways (especially the blue livery) and flew out of PHL every summer for years to Rome. Congrats about your dad too and I hope you become a pilot. We need them and there’s a huge shortage. Hope to be on your plane one day

as a pilot with 9 years on the A330, I can safely say that's a damn good landing, and one I got about once every 10 landings if I was on a lucky streak..
Every now and then, emphasizing THEN, I’ll have a landing where I’m not actually sure the mains touched.
The A330 in the US Airways livery is absolutely iconic.

If you look closely to the back of the engines you can actually see how smoothly this pilot reduces throttle to idle power, just a beautiful landing wow

Still the smoothest landing I’ve seen to this day. I’ve experienced one this smooth before. Japan airlines 777-300 into Narita. When’s the mains hit all we felt was a slight deceleration and then the rest of the bogie smoothly touched and decelerated a little more. Long runway so the reversers were at idle reverse and down she came very gently just like this video.
Id be surprised if the passengers even felt the rear gear, maybe an ever-slight touch when the nose touched down.

I've been on a Wizz Air flight and it was a butter landing. I think it was worse than that one but I couldn't even feel the landing. I'm happy I didn't go on Ryanair.

US airways ceased operations 2 years ago, they merged with american airlines ending there life. or in proper English, for those who don't understand what i just said,

I watch hundreds of landings and it seems the A330 always seem to have very soft landings, more than any other aircraft!
The first time i saw this video was when it had come out over 10 years ago. I had just started flying on VATSIM using FS9. Now I'm on FS2020. I loved the A330 more after watching this video.
Its hard to imagine someone doing so gentle moves with something so big and fast moving that takes some serious skill

There's this landing... Then the time I fly US Airways we bounce.
Who cares? Bouncing happens on smooth days when the pilot is trying to make a good landing but orients the nose a bit too high, but both bounces aren't nearly as bad as one rough landing... Most often...
