I rebuilt my 3g completely with full evo 8 swap myself and also built the head not just the block runs amazing already past break in period as well

It must be very satisfying to build your own engine, especially first start up, and then driving it (hard).
I know this is 4 years old but just to clarify when bleeding the lifters you ARE supposed to fill them with diesel and store them upright until ready to install... Filled with diesel.
I'm just going by the Mistsu manual... Pease motherlovers..

I think the blue valve cover with the two different blacks looks really sick.
looks great blacked out now just some tasteful pieces in that blue and it will be solid maybe a blue compressor housing on the turbo with the rest blacked out.

congrats again on all the work you do from home shed. Nowhere near an ultimate EVO build though. But for a daily road car more than anyone needs particularly on snow.

Why not cleaning the top of the pistons once the engine was torn apart? That carbon deposit creates heat spots.
wouldn't you need to deck the block and head after you've taken it apart? wont be perfectly flat for the new gasket after how many hot/cold cycles
Engine looks dope as hell, id powder coat the cam gear bolts to match the valve cover but thats just me. Question, why do u wait to install the turbo til after the engines in? Wouldnt it be easier out of the car since its between the firewall and engine? Or is the 4G63 diff from the 4B11T?

I blew a built motor this exact way. Trigger wheel was 180° out and it wasn't caught until it was revved to 8k on the dyno 🤦♂️
