- On November 8, 2023, Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) delivered powerful remarks at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on free speech and the rise of antisemitism and bigotry across the United States including on college campuses. In his remarks, Schiff also mentions the recent death of a Jewish man in Los Angeles during an altercation between demonstrators, as well as the fatal stabbing of a six-year-old Muslim boy in Plainfield, Illinois.

This is a clear example of Manufactured Consent: he begins with 10/7 as a premise, which no one can argue was terrible. Anyone who argues has already lost.
He then goes on to frame the boundaries of the argument as anyone who even followes this line of thought must be an anti-Semite, who Jews are less than human, and applaud their butchery; in actuality this is pure propoganda, because the people who are soaking up are saying that Palestinians are also humans who deserve not to be butchered. As if the only way anyone can be Pro-life for Palestinians is to be anti-Semetic .
rhetoric always reveals the truth: what he's actually saying is that he supports the death of all Palestinians for the Zionist state to exist.
