"In my opinion, Larry Coryell changed not only the Jazz Guitar aproach, but he also managed this in the Popular Music Guitar World. To me, he mapped out before anyone else a road to combine jazz and rock".- Al Di Meola
One of the best sounding jazz recordings in terms of production I’ve ever heard. Everything is so clear and easy to pick out. The bass is HUGE.. like the room sound...the drums are nice and up front in the mix but still lots of dynamics
Sooooooo good........used to play this song almost every morning one entire summer....1978.......lost the lp a few years later.......loving it again!!!
I’m astonished that the various uploads from this masterpiece of an album have so few listens. So beautiful. I’ve loved it ever since it came out. I’m not exactly sure how I was turned on to it, but I suspect it was being played on one of the freeform rock stations I was listening to at the time. Those were the days.😉👍
The intro lead lines to this tune I have been working on for 40 years trying to get the phrasing notes and nuances just right so it's floating in the air like how Larry's playing it.
@@mohdkafena4439 I talked to LC here in Seattle, I was taking lessons from same guy he did when he was a kid , a "heavy" in town named Jerry Gray (pianist) - Larry told me "you cant go wrong with that cat" JG was all about the "pulse" and the notes only secondary to it and awareness of pulse needs to be very heavy, a lot of "weight" to it, very strong not necessarily "metronomic" at all...just a very heavy focus on that pulse that you create yourself. He said the really biig monsters (like LC) have this ability watch and see. I have working that long on just these intro guitar licks - not copying Larry so much (sorry) but trying to get the feeling or where "within or before or after" (or floating) Larry has for it.
Steve Marcus And Larry Coryell, so glad they found each other!

Well, actually Steve Marcus. 😉👍
This and 'The Creator Has a Master Plan' by Pharoah Sanders, plus Coltrane's Favorite Things are the greatest long form jazz performances EVER!
