I lived in San Marcos right up the road!My band played at Lockhart library many times during the Dickinson festival!!Ate at Smittys barbecue afterward!Good stuff!!!

Gorgeous buildings, and now I have a hankering for BBQ!
My Mom grew up poor, just outside of Lockhart. Grandpa raised cattle on leased land, Grandma raised chickens and tended the garden. When times got tough, my Mom and her siblings picked cotton and worked the fields on neighboring farms.
Same for my family too.
My Grandmother was born in Lockhart. And my mother and her brothers picked cotton as well growing up in nearby San Marcos. ❤TEXAS.

Thank you so much for sharing this video of Lockhart. We lived in Lockhart in 1984 and I remember when we went to city hall to have the utilities turned on the clerk pronounced my last name wrong - Caldwell the same name as the county in which Lockhart is the county seat, lol.😁 Our youngest son was born in the hospital there. Last time I visited the town the hospital had been closed for many years. Lockhart is a quiet little town with easy access to Austin. The city has several parks for the families to enjoy. Lockhart has a HEB and a Walmart what else's does a person need?

Yes @Willim Kn, so much growth, houses going up but Lockhart and many other growing towns are so glad for the jobs. Praise God for that

We were camped on the creekside of that campground about 20 years ago, it rained a ton upstream and flooded our site. Was in a popup trailer and woke up with water in it.

I'm an Austin, Texas native. Spent a lot of time in Lockhart; I'd recommend any of these BBQ establishments... depends on how far you wanna drive... small place.

There are more beautiful courthouses awa churches southeast of Lockhart. I hope you've seen them.
