another tasty pie graham ,and a good money saving idea using the rest of the chicken. i have never seen that way of thickening a sauce using flour and milk mixed like that but as cornflour is not usually stable when recooked as in a pie and then it gives us a runny sauce. wendys way is muck quicker than making a roux then adding the milk and cream you say that its not really a teaching vid, but i have learned something new tonight. as you say its good family cooking and if it looks rustic so much the better as its made with love .i have liked this vid very much , so i send you both our love ( from his lordship) and i , take care xxxx
Hi Grace, we were cooking meals from that chicken and suddenly there were six of us for dinner. I don’t know how Wendy does it, she whizzes round the kitchen and just gets on with it. I unnerve her when I film her because we try and do things for the video step by step. I used to use corn flour but Wendy doesn’t worry. The pie was so good, I’m not sure if it’s the filing the stock or the pastry. I think she casts a spell on me because I love our food.
