Here’s How I Do Contesting

When the bands are crowded and you can’t find an open frequency to call CQ, one contesting method of making contacts is to “search & pounce”.
So you scroll the band to find someone calling “CQ contest” and get in line, start throwing out your call when they’re done calling and hope they will hear you.
