    There is so much pressure on our adult children to "deconstruct" their faith. Many have been hurt by the church through abuse, church splits, legalism, authoritarian leaders, etc. Those issues make it difficult sometimes to have conversations with our children. Praying for them and sharing what God is doing in my life opens a door to conversations.

    Hey man, 100% agree! My great grandmother planted that seed in me to pray for a godly father not only did he send me one he sent me three to help rescue me! Grandparents pray, pray, pray, and be involved! I am living proof of the fruit of that labor! Praise Yahweh for the prayers and support of my great grandparents. They made all the difference in my life!

    A very powerful truth fact. Our Father loves us better than we can love the people that He gives us. We are not our own, we all belong to Him, not unto ourselves.

    Thank you for this message. I needed it today, a month after you posted it. My husband and I were just talking about my second born who is 32 and is very far from God and me. I have struggled to pray for her and her younger 2 siblings for a while. My oldest is the only one who walks with God but I know that God has a call for the others. I needes the encouragement to take up praying again and trusting even when I can't know what God is doing in them.

    I'm a recent father, I have a two and half year old son and a daughter being formed in the womb currently. So, while this wasn't a video for me per se, I still found it edifying and comforting, because I pray literally everyday to our Father that He mitigates my failures and shortcomings as a dad, because I think of so many others whose children have seemingly walked away. It's something I try not to worry about, but I would do anything to see my children fear, love, and serve, the Lord throughout their lives.

    My oldest son, raised in the church, made a profession of faith and baptized as a child, has left the faith - but he never was a Believer to begin with, or could not state that he does not believe in Christ. We pray for him daily, he has completely cut us off - will not respond to any of our attempts to contact him, and will not let us see our grandchild.
    We know that we have nothing left but prayer.

    What about predestination? There are conflicting Bible references on this. Jesus said "my sheep hear my voice". What if you don't hear the voice? Another verse says God is not willing that any should perish. Which way is it? If you're not on the saved list you won't get picked. If you are on the list you will hear the voice and be saved one way or another. So what's the point in trying to save someone that may not be on the saved list?

    The strongholds of Big Bang and Macro Evolotion are big stumbling blocks, it's way too diffiuclt for most people to see and explain the holes in th science behind
    macro evolution , specifically how mankind evolved from homo-whatever at this point, (way too many theory's alway's in motion ) however, you can without too much
    effort (10 hours tops) learn how to explain why the Universe could never have created itself, and use this as a wedge into getting anyone to think about the origns of existence
    still pointing to a creator outside of known parameters of space and time and enery and matter, which all had to occur instantly and simultaneously for there own origin
    which is the basics of the Big Bang.

    if you don't have evidence, you'll still fail. Trying to repeat the same lies and try to guilt people back into the cult isn't a very good way to work with people you supposedly care about.
    I've had my parents, and plenty of other christians praying desperately for me to agree with them over the last 30+ years. Curious how you all fail miserably, despite the promises in the bible. What's wrong? is it because your god loves me as I am? your god doesn't think any of you are really christians? or is it that your god is imaginary?

    • @VLynnK77
      @VLynnK77 5 місяців тому +1

      Interesting...you base the lack of evidence only on your life...a tad myopic perhaps? How about you start with a much more honest position, and not twist Chad's words. He never said anything to advocate for guilt tripping anyone, quite the opposite. Maybe you could follow his example, instead of mocking and insulting and doing your own form of guilt tripping, you could just live your life as you wish and model the behaviour you would like to see around you, instead of verbally attacking people who don't agree with you? And of course it's about the very fact that God does love you, that's the point. The issue is about rejecting God's love. People who have experienced God's love and want that for their family, have the right to pray for them and their well being. Why are you so concerned about prayer, if you don't believe it's effective? Why are you so keen to police people's thoughts? I have certainly seen it be incredibly affective, and effective, in my life, and in so many others'. God being imaginary, is just your opinion. Billions of others disagree, including scientists, archeologists, artists, and countless others who are convinced there is an intelligence behind the existence of the universe.

    • @velkyn1
      @velkyn1 5 місяців тому

      @@VLynnK77 Nope, there is no evidence for this cult's claims. I don't limit my disbelief in this nonsenes to just my life.
      I can both model behavior I'd like to see and attack the harmful lies of this cult. Curious how you can't evne show your god exists, much less that it loves anyone, including me. I can see the rather obvcious dearth of this god's supposed love since I can see christians dying of starvation in the sudan.
      Yep, you can pray all you like. It does nothing. You try to have your imaginary friend force someone to agree wtih you, and surprise, you fail miserably, despite the promises in your bible, Lynn.
      Nice appeal to popularity logical fallacy there with your appeal to popularity. Curious how christians don't agree with each other or other religions, so trying to claim that since billions believe in some version of a god, doesn't make your god exist.

    • @VLynnK77
      @VLynnK77 5 місяців тому +1

      @@velkyn1 This may come as a shock, but I have prayed, and it has been effective. As I have already said. I've seen it with others too. I am taken aback at your confidence in making declarations on the outcomes of the lives of people you don't even know. That sounds kind of god like. There have been studies done on this too. Telling me I can pray and it has done nothing, is some kind of amazing ability you have to know what has happened in my life. You could market that, you know, maybe start a cult or something? :)
      No indeed, Christians don't agree with each other, for a number of reasons, one of them being because they are humans. There have been charlatans all throughout history, obviously, obfuscating truth and facts and doing whatever they can to control people and resources and to cause division. But disagreements can make for very interesting discussion, and aid in getting to the heart of things. The Christianity I grew up in encouraged questions about everything, and the last time I checked, cults don't allow for that. There are plenty of scammers, everywhere, in all walks of life. I encourage everyone I know to question. And let's not twist things again. I am not trying to force anyone to agree with me. Because it isn't about that. I am sorry if you have had bad experiences with people trying to manipulate you. I have had that experience from plenty of atheists too, sadly.
      I'm curious, when did you ask me to show my God exists? Or were you using "you" as plural? I am honoured if you think I can be the spokesperson for the whole of Christianity. Why, thank you. But personally, my husband, who was a genetics researcher, and like other scientist friends he had, came to their own conclusions that God exists, because they thought it was obvious that the complexity of the universe points to an intelligent designer. My own research led me to the same conclusions. And like many others, we all had our own personal experiences of being led to this place, based on our questioning of the world, of other religions etc etc.
      Being a Christian doesn't mean you are suddenly immune from hardship. This is a broken world filled with injustice. Why should Christians be immune from this? God never promises this. He gives us hope however, and enlarges our perspective out of ourselves, and to see that this life is temporary. It's also a difficult truth that humans more often than not connect much more deeply, and more authentically, in times of hardship. This intrigues me, actually.
      I am not trying to force you in to any way of thinking. And I wish you Peace.

    • @velkyn1
      @velkyn1 5 місяців тому

      @@VLynnK77 it's not a shock. it's a typical baseless claim by a christian. Unsurprisngly, you have no evidence for this at all, just like any theist who makes the same claims as you do. You don't believe other people for no evidence, so you know why I don't believe your false claims.
      I don’t need to be a god to know how prayer fails, V. There have been studies on prayer and surprise, prayer always fails. But do show a study where it works. Surely you can, right? I know your claims are false since curiously enough, not a single Christian can do what jesus promises. If they could, why are hospitals and nursing homes still full? You just didn’t get around to praying for them?
      Nice you agree that christains don’t agree with each other. Alas, blaming the humans doesn’t work very well if you claim to have a all powerful, all knowing all benevolent deity. The poor thing evidently just can’t do a thing about these “charlatans” though “once upon a time” it used to just kill them. Why does your god evidently intentionally allow liars, so you Christians will murder each other?
      ROFL, your “very interesting discussion” caused people to be burned alive. There is no Christianity that encourages questions. They all have their one and only “truth”, so spare me the false claims yet again, V. Just like cults, they claim that only their version is the truth, and tell their members to give up everything for the cult, including abandoning their families. Both things your jesus says to do, not that Christians actually follow that part.
      Christians are trying to force people to agree with them by trying to put their religious nonsense into law. It is about that. All Christians are trying to manipulate people, that is what their great mission is all about. It seems you know no atheists, but that’s typical. Do tell what these “atheists” have done to “manipulate” you.
      I was using “you” as a plural. And any christain can be a spokesperson for it since there is no one single christanity, since you (plural) can’t agree on the most basic things.
      your claims about scientists coming to believe that there is a “designer” means little since there is no evidence for design, only what Christians are taught to presuppose. Unfortuantely, yrou god is either an idiot, or malicious, since this god managed to make the sun give humans cancer, and managed to “design” the human body to guarantee thousands of humans choke to death every year. As your husband how that works.
      Lots theists claim experience, and curious how you don’t’ believe them, V, so why should I believe you?
      Christains can’t agree on what “being a Christian” means, and curiously your god promises no hardship in one part of your bible and then say there will be hardship. As usual, the bible contradicts itself, and it gets worse when this god does nothing for its worshippers.
      You might want to read psalm 19, and where jesus makes his promises about the lilies in Luke. Then you try the nonsense that hardship is “good” by saying people connect better. So how does this work with heaven, when there is no “hardship”?

  • @anthonyhendriks

    The early Church did NOT believe in hell. After 50 years of believing in hell, I too have abandoned that belief and feel more loving towards people. Everyone will be redeemed in the end. Do not worry about your children -- they will be fine. Just love them now.

      Of course it did. Without hell, i.e. punishment, divine wrath, the gospel is not rightly realized and accepted as real salvation. The ancient greeks did not have an idea of devil and good/evil distinction. But this was an ancient greek idea. Is it true many christians were influenced by this idea? Yes. But this does not mean it was a christian position.
