I’m in Canada, and I ride the Yamaha 50bws. A wonderful scooter with a ton of storage,a well engineered drive train and about 120mpg. I would put it up against any other 50cc scooter for looks, reliability and performance. I’m putting on about 4000 miles per year on it,I ride it like a touring motorcycle. It has never quit. A solid buy.
Both sold as a premium product. With very similar handling, and performance. You could buy yourself some riding gear with the money you save. Yamaha does have more dealers though. So that might influence your pick.
US-based here. I have just purchased an Aprilia SR50 4T 4V, 2017, (last year for it in the US market,) with only 160 miles on the odometer, in pristine condition. I secretly wished it was the 2-stroke version, but no, it was the 4T 4V. It is beautiful, tasteful finishes, has adequate power and performs surprisingly well, even two-up. However, it is not what I had in mind. I wanted to be doing wheelies damnit! By the way, having owned several Honda Ruckus over the years and having one in my garage now, I am surprised that it did not make your list. While I get it how the Aprilia and others may have a far superior ride quality compared to the Honda Ruckus, IMHO, the fun-factor on the Ruckus remains stronger, and it is incredibly practical. I can carry almost the whole house on my Ruckus. I am looking forward to when Honda releases an electric version of the Ruckus in the US. I really enjoyed your video.

Just for anyone who needs to know. all the mopeds are restricted to 32mph and good look getting any faster. They have an E4 registration system which locks you out as its built into the wiring harness so the only way to make these mopeds faster is to engine swap or buy an older bike

Blimey that is quite a distance on a 50 if done in one go each time. If restricted you are only doing 30mph tops. Most are set up as little town and city commuters, not really long distances - though they will be able to do it it. Budget will be a factor too. 125s would offer much better options.
My thoughts are : It's about time the U.K Government changed the licencing laws & got rid of Strangled 50cc Bikes limited to 30mph. Let teenagers from the age of 14 Take to the road as they have done in European countries for the last 20+ years on Non-restricted 50cc Bikes that are safer for all around. They can keep up with Traffic in town more easily & don't get pushed to the Kerb on B roads. Would have been better to have the specs of the scooters just like in the 2020 video. But great vid, good job 👍👍
Thanks for the comment.
You can beat an old 2 stroke! I love my Vespa LX50 2 stroke (substantially upgraded) and will beat most 125s. Echo is junk but it does come cheap.
Hallo from Greece I'm 46 and I changed a lot of moped or motorcycles from 15 years old..... My opinion is that Yamaha s and Honda scooter s are the bests for reliability and quality, after are the French Peugeot scooter good guality fasts and safe for the riders, Italians scooter s Aprilia and Piaggio are perfect s for speed and design safe with good brakes but haves early problems to electrical equipment or now to injection s, Kymco and Sym also Keeway good scooter s good engines, not the bests but for the money that you spend its advantage.. I m not fun to cheap scooters I don't like the quality in my country all this cheap sccoters after two years you feel that cut in the middle when you ride it and of course the colors and plastics don't look nice from the sun........To the end my opinion the best the saffest cubics for cities is the 125cc with euro 4 and now 5 its easier, economical and polite..... If you want to buy sccoters the clear solution,
Thanks for your comment
Why isn't tha kymco agility 50
I owned a sym 50cc scooter I felt 50cc was not enough power to get you around town many people mistaken me for an ebike.
of course as long as you have a 50cc 4 strokes
