Hey guys. I brought the tackle Mark shows here. How much of the surface line would you recommend using on the reel (comes in 250m spool). Got the hook link zig and floater all ready set. Tia.

I tried that floater line at Drayton last week, new line on a reel and found it had very poor knot strength no matter what knot I tried, kept failing at the knot every time. Might have been a poor spool but it has put me off fox surface line now.
Maybe it was your knot then, just a thought
@@AdamTheFisherman I tried many different knots. I've been fishing for 35 years so know a few. When I took the line off the reel I noticed that majority of it had flat spots all throughout the line, it was as though it was old line.
bubbasworld I’ve never had it fail me, even in weedy situations.
@@MarkPitchers Maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad spool. I've since removed and replaced it.

Great video but surely if you see fish in the high upper layer you'd stick a zig on?
Equally, there was signs of fish feeding on the bottom, and as this was prime bite time I didn’t want to risk disturbing the swim. And, guess what... it paid off.. 😜😜😄😄👍👍

Dane Fielding unfortunately I’ve not been near a gym for almost 6 months now. A really nasty shoulder injury, and then the lockdown stopped all that 😩😩😩

Yeah sometimes the big pellets get stuck in the throwing stick.
in theory gulls feeding should attract larger fish, i know its never good having birds about though.
Soulware3D - Soulvex On some waters the bird life feeding can encourage the carp to feed too. But absolutely not on this lake.
When was the last time mark fished a lake when he wasn’t the only person fishing there, are there really people out there that need tips with surface fishing, it’s not complicated really
Hi Brendan, there’s newcomers to the sport all the time, especially right now when so many people are rediscovering angling again. The tactics etc mentioned in the vid refer to questions I get asked on a daily basis; so yes, lots of people do like tips on surface fishing. And to answer your question, I can’t remember when I last fished a lake and I was the only one there, especially as most of the times I’m fishing busy day ticket venues.
Sorry should he only talk about how to cast 140yds with a Ronnie rig..great tips for most surface anglers here. and a 40lb+ common what more could you want in a surface video
Sorry couldn’t help myself Mr ford has a UA-cam channel !! He had a pop at a carp angler for trying to give a multitude of tips for fishing yet posts a instruction for applying silicone sealer.....applying silicon isn’t complicated really do people really need tips mr Ford...you’d probably be asking him for tips and acting nice if you bumped into him on a lake.joker
