The liver-friendly smoothie recipe shared by Dr. Eric Berg DC will:
    1. Spinach + Kiwi: Rich in vitamin C, helps reduce belly fat and protects the liver from damage.
    2. Spinach + Grapefruit: Increases insulin sensitivity, supports sugar metabolism and promotes bile flow for detoxification.
    3. Kale + Pomegranate: Anti-inflammatory and prevents fat accumulation in the liver.
    4. Papaya + Water: Rich in enzymes that aid digestion and fight inflammation.
    5. Celery + Blueberries: Increases bile production, reduces liver inflammation and removes excess iron.
    6. Cucumber + Lemon: Detoxifies, prevents non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and is a natural diuretic.
    7. Avocado + Strawberries: Provides powerful antioxidants, helps restore the liver and improves metabolism.
    8. Papaya + Coconut: Combines papaya enzymes and MCT fatty acids from coconut to reduce inflammation and support immunity.

Eat healthy, exercise/walk a mile daily, take vitamin tabs, eat black garlic, fermented cabbage such as Sauerkraut & kimchi, take one spoon of extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar, drink kefir yogurt drink, matcha green tea and sleep well. That's what I've done and just celebrated my 90th birthday lately. 😊

Detoxing is certainly a popular concept, but in reality, our bodies-especially the liver and kidneys-are naturally designed to detoxify themselves. Instead of focusing on specific 'detox' foods, perhaps maintaining a balanced diet and avoiding harmful substances (like alcohol and tobacco) would be more effective. That said, this video still provides some interesting tips on nutrition!

You mentioned that blueberry will bind with iron.
My N.D. said that vitamin C will help the iron deficiency. (Removing iron would not be optimal for some people)
Sometimes we need to choose our diet (example blueberries) and then analyze how to balance our levels, like adding molasses or tomato paste to increase iron.

What about all the oxalates in the spinach, kale and other greens? I know too many people who have been drinking green juices and have had problems with kidney stones.

Add lemon juice and it will counteract kidney stones

      Add yogurt to it, maybe

@@jeffhadley3362 Oxalate kidney stones, specifically calcium oxalate stones, are typically formed in an acidic environment. These stones are the most common type of kidney stones and can form when there is an excess of oxalate in the urine, which can combine with calcium to form crystals. So adding lemon is pouring gasoline on fire.

I have never heard of people having kidney stones from spinach and kale. Are you sure it's from that alone?

Make it smart... If you have issues with oxalates, then use some other variation of recipe. Or better, cure your kidneys at first.
Potassium, Magnesium, vitamin D, citrates, K2, healthy microbiom help with that

Dr. Berg, can you combine any of these smoothie recipes into one? For example, if I combine the spinach/kiwi mix with the celery/blueberry mix, would any of the health benefits be cancelled out/enhanced?
