I'm glad to see it in all its 27 minute glory, what a meeting, to see all the teams that i love to watch in the best cars made for banger racing has been a real treat, well done slotty for another great video.
You Brit's are awesome ! This is a real demolition derby ! Here in Canada (Comber fair) they have you in a squared off pen 1/4 the size of your track. I forgot to mention it's in mud...freakin mud ! top speed 30 mph or 50 kmph if they're lucky, you see more red flags than a bull fight . The sad thing is people here think our demolition derbys are normal..news for them they have no idea what a real demo is. On my next visit to Sheffield i'm going to enjoy a real demolition derby there at Arena Essex !
To think, Ford Australia took the late 70s "square" Granada, and turned it into the XD Falcon. The pinnacle of which was a 351 cubic inch V8, which did battle in races like Bathurst. It spawned Fairlane and LTD models, and to this day is one of the favourite Falcons in Australia
Will there be any left for the future "All Granada" meets? I think not. Half finished restoration projects always end up here. So finish the job you started!!

this isn't a demolition derby. this is just a race (where who crosses the line first wins). but contact is encouraged. although obviously if you ARE the last one running you automatically win
Also, not enough baseball caps and denim shirts and such for it to be video footage from America, so I'm going to assume this is in Essex as the titles says (Hurr, I'm smert, guys c:)
I don't think this would be accepted in the United States because in the United States we demo derby on dirt and in the UK I don't think they do straight up demolition derby
When all the classic cars are gone and all that's left are modern FWD boxes the racing will go back to tip-n-spin because the modern cars are too fragile & the engines & rear ends are far too vulnerable to go full-contact unless you take a dozen cars to the meeting.

Ford Granada, made in Great Britain and Germany. We never got these. The Granada we saw in the mid '70's was a far different car.
