T.S.O.L and Shattered Faith Demos

- Hello! Today I have 1980 demos of two legendary hardcore punk bands. These came off a CD that came in today. Some stuff I haven't even heard on here, and if you know me that's nuts! Haha, I hope you enjoy. I don't really put these up for views, just for the love of the music and rare demos. If you gotta geek on something, let it be rock and roll and computers.
The TSOL 1980 DEMOS were released on a 7" about 20 years ago. There were only 4 songs on the demo: You Don't Have To Die, 80 Times, Superficial Love, Silent Majority. Everything else on this disc is taken from a live show at the Golden Bear circa '82.
I like these better than the album versions, the recordings are not as good but i love this raw sound, pure n raw, these feel less rushed and a little more passionatw
They were totally passionate \m/
My highschool teacher used to watch them play in the garage before they became big and it all started in Costa Mesa CA

I had the pleasure of knowing Kerry Martinez when he lived in Brooklyn, NY. Super humble, kind, and unassuming. It was probably over a year before I found out he was in Shattered Faith!

thanx a lot for upload ,I'm lucky to knowing a Son of a US - Soldier ,they was stationed at Bitburg/germany back in the early 80ties . He was my first and best punkrock tapes connection , we share tapes,i give him the latest german punk stuff and got from him the latest us punkbands,before the movie Suburbia . oh, I forgot to tell,we are the first punkband in this area by Trier/Bitburg, called Swindle (but in real : rollende kettenfahrzeuge ) , greetings to all True friends !! we still play the rock'n roll !
Very cool!! I love that movie!! It was a huge part of me growing up with punk rock. TSOL and China White are my favorite punk bands.
Pretty sure some of those Shattered Faith songs are from other comps. The Omen, Short Haired Thugs, Victims of Society, and What Happened all sound like the same versions that were on the Life Is comps and aren't really demo's.
Oh for sure, I love those songs. I used to try to play Short Haired Thugs on my first ever guitar. I didn’t get very far lol. I just titled it demos to make it easy. It’s probably incorrect but people let me know that haha. Thanks for your comment!
Y’all this is a bootleg CD I bought when I was a teenager. Just enjoy the songs and stop debating what’s a demo and what’s not >;)

Hey man! Glad you like the post. It seems like 1980 or “You Don’t Have To Die” could be an early version, as the chorus sounds so similar. Jack or TSOL haven’t spoken on this, but I’m sure they experimented with songs and took the good fragments and left the rest to disappear. Keep rockin!

A little confused, why does list artist as shattered faith? sounds like early tsol. Isn’t second song called “wash away?” Great stuff
Hi, later in the video there is Shattered Faith demos included in the video. TSOL is included in the first half then it merges.

@@johnflushing9328 Yes, Wash Away was on Beneath The Shadows. However, the version included on this video is from a demo version of Wash Away. Not the 1983 version you are referencing. You can hear the difference here: ua-cam.com/video/Dc3QpzTCETw/v-deo.html it is different from the 1983 version on BTS.
Misterslats summed it up 4 months ago already. The TSOL DEMO IS ALREADY ON UA-cam. YOURS AIN'T IT. Wash Away in demo version wasn't in 1980 that's for sure.
YOURS is mix of demos 1980 and newer. It's cool for sure. Bootleggers don't always tell the accurate info. Once you get over China White check out Social Unrest.
