Two-string hurdy gurdy with keys made of chopsticks. Wheel with pieces from a nylon cord as picks. Recycling Musical Instruments by Mo Spann • 8. Dezember - 24 x Kul...
I have already tried to achieve a softer sound with a ukulele as a sound box (watch ua-cam.com/video/Y1YeIRlEqQo/v-deo.html ). Anyway, great that you like it 👍 and I'll keep working on it 🙂
Very interesting and cool, but wouldn't the mechanism for striking the string make it a fundamentally different category of instrument than a hurdy gurdy?
Sounds like the lovechild of a hurdy gurdy and a taishokoto
You are right, there is something illegitimate about that ;-)
Wow! ... creative idea! 👍
Thank You!!! 😊
👍...never an end to man's ingenuity...
This is genius! Do you plan to publish how-to-do instructions for your inventions? That would be awesome!
Great that you like it! Maybe I'll find a publisher one day 😉
I love this so much!
Great, thank You!
making the number and position of picks changeable to create different rhythmic pulses would be a cool upgrade
Good idea, I'll have to give that a try!
I would say it is keyed mechanical balalaika/dombra. Good idea! I would recommend to find different resonator to make sound more pleasure. I love it

You're absolutely right, but I haven't found this new and more appropriate category yet. Maybe you can help me?
@@Professor_Sperrmueller how about a hordy gordy?
@@kennethlindahl9206 good idea, I will keep it in mind👍
wood sounds better but still cool.
Yes, wood has a softer sound, but I like to push the boundaries sometimes😉I'm pleased that you like it anyway🙂
Sounds better than the gateway gurdy ,well done !when do you intend to manufacture commercially ?
Many thanks for the compliments! However, a commercial production is not yet in sight ;)
@@Professor_Sperrmueller loke I said ,better than the gateway gurdy ,very well made proper musical instrument bravo!
Very cool man! What Is the name of the first song you play?
Agnese dolce Agnese
It's a classical Rondo by Muzio Clementi. The melody also became popular with the song "A Groovy Kind of Love".
Not really a hurdy gurdy because the string seems to be plucked rather than bowed by the wheel. Nonetheless, this is pretty cool!
No, not really a Hurdy Gurdy, but rather a "scratch Gurdy" 😉 Anyway, great you like it!
Cómo lo hicisteeeeee
Con mucha paciencia 😉
How does it work?
Small spikes of nylon cord are attached to the wheel, which touch and pick the strings when the wheel is turned.
@@Professor_Sperrmueller thanks.
@@loamdelatam770 You are welcome 🙂
