Can you tell me the bloodline/breeder of the dog? Seems like a very good genetics, extremely calm and easy to handle.

Trimming legs on my poodles have always been the most difficult part for me. I am thankful for your video and techniques you used. I think I learned quite a bit of deal from you!

That is a beautiful cut! I love it! I'm a new standard poodle owner. Is that style with the hair on the head and neck long called the lion cut? I love it! He looks so impressive with that cut. You did a great job. I have another question for you, do we have to cut their hair short for summer? I've read some people say that the longer hair keeps them cooler, and other people say that they are cooler with their hair cut short.

Thank you 😊. It depends. If the coat is kept in great condition, free of matts, bathed at least monthly to keep clean then it can be left long. Matts can harbor moisture and heat can cause skin issues and stress to the dog. They can be clipped shorter for summer for easier maintenance especially if they swim. I clip mine short in the summer. I make sure they have shade and water when outside, and for walks however, they stay inside where there is air conditioning

Thank you. I do keep her hair free of mats and bathed every three weeks. I don't walk her above 70 degrees as that is when she is uncomfortable. I think I should be able to keep it long for the summer. Plus, would it really make that much difference? If I shaved her would she then love 80 degree temperature? Probably not. I don't really understand how cutting their hair short will make them more heat tolerant. I can't find any answers online. I think I'll continue to keep it long because it is soooo pretty. The groomers she goes to want to cut it short because its easier for them probably. I wish I could groom her myself. Hopefully some day I will be able to. Thank you for your videos. I will continue to watch them to learn how to groom a poodle.@@LoveofGrooming

Yes, she will still be hot. Show dogs are keep long all year and breeds like the bearded collie are left long. They sweet through their pads and pant to keep cool. As long as their coats are kept immaculatent then I believe long hair is fine in the hotter months. I usually keep mine shorter so they can go into the water and they collect less burrs and it's convenient for me, less brushing

@@LoveofGrooming Thank you. Yes, it is a lot easier that is a fact! I failed anyways and ended up giving her a summer cut. The mats from her collar were out of control. I have a rolled leather collar but I wasn't able to keep it mat free even with a lot of brushing. I had the wrong brushes and I need detangler spray which I didn't have. Anyways, next winter I'll try again and hopefully, fingers crossed, I'll be able to keep her mat free. It's not that easy to keep a Standard mat free with long hair. 😋 And I'm going to purchase some of the brushes you use for longer hair.
      Thanks!
