I absolutely agree that Meagan Harmon is overqualified! I am so grateful for her representation on the city council. Ed St. George, miss me with that outdated, sexist BS comment. Who are you to give any sort of advice to her, especially in this public platform? Women do not need your unsolicited opinion about any aspects of their career, family, or life.

Appreciate the interviews Josh! Very important to talk with people who care about our community.

Mr. St. George, telling Meagan Harmon to “take a pause” is an old school, male chauvinistic notion, and just not your business. That decision is up to her and her family, just as the decisions you made were made by you and your family, and those of Mr. Molina by him and and his family. From what I have seen of Meagan Harmon in action, she can do it all, with intelligence, humor and integrity. There are a whole bunch of remarkable women who have run for office, are raising children, and holding down other jobs including Laura Capps, Sholeh Jahangir, Luz Reyes Martin, and Kristen Sneddon. And don’t get me started about all the amazing mothers who run non-profits and are CEOs. You, Mr. St. George, should take a pause from judging women and their capabilities.

More housing sounds great! Paseo is empty most of the time anyway, especially after the renovations. Plus everyone is advocating for housing on both sides of the spectrum, but Mr. St. George shows an actual solution! Great interview, Josh!

Great Interview. I think women can do both a great career and raise families. I believe that Ed was saying it is important for "everyone" to focus on their children while they are still children. Both men and women should consider the consequences of career over family. I support us ALL living balanced lives. As Ed so eloquently said "time is the one thing we can never get back". Living without regrets is a worthy life.

Then why not mention the same concern for his candidate, Barrett Reed?

I’m with Starshine and Gerardo. Does this apply to Barrett Reed? And whose business is it what either of them do as private citizens? Why do men continue to feel entitled to police young women to ensure that they are living their lives right?
It would have been more honest if St George had just said, “I wish Meagan would take a break so my pro-development candidate can run and win.”

Eww. Super gross to talk about a Councilwoman as "the girl everybody had a crush on" and tell her to take a pause to raise her kids and work on her relationship with her husband. WTF? What business are her "sacrifices" to anyone else? You asked, so this is me pulling you aside and saying, "Hey, Ed, women have been kicking professional ass and raising spectacular kids for decades. You just haven't noticed." (Thanks for the pushback, Josh.)

Karen, what are you outraged over? Were you even listening to what he said or do you just have a personal issue with St. George. Don’t bother answering.

… did I stutter? Never even heard of this guy before. But I feel like the source of my outrage was pretty clear. If you’re still confused, feel free to peruse other comments, and those likely to rain down in the coming days. Pleased you’re open to being educated! 🙌🏼 Signed, Karen About Antifeminism in Any Form xoxo

Seems like some people below have scores to settle with Ed…
If you listen to the content and sentiments of his message and opinion to Ms. Harmon, there’s nothing uncouth about it. He’s literally saying that he regrets not choosing to work less to spend more time with his son during the first several years of his life and he would have done it differently if he had the chance. Stop. This has nothing to do with gender.

Josh, you should have asked George if he had the same concerns about Barrett Reed. Why is he running for city council when he is busy running a company and raising a young son? He should take a pause. Missed opportunity.
