Very effective tutorial! You condense the arcane documentation into a useful lesson that is easily understood. Thank you very much. Please present more lessons!
thank you ;) I moved away a bit from NetApp towards public cloud, ai/ml and containers. however you can find few vids on my channel for cluster mode as well. thanks for watching!
Thanks so much sir .. I working from more than 10 yr in All EMC, IBM xiv, Hitachi nexsan , flash xiv . but I never worked on netapp . with this your video I can understand netapp also .. once more thanks
Very well explained ... as a fresher it helped me a lot ... can anyone tell me here @36:29 how it is possible to see the file/content of NFS/unix share from windows ?? is it really possible to see the file & its content from different host / shares /protocols ?? Note - Please explain this ,keeping in mind that I am to Net App
Awesome video !!! thanks. By any chance do you know where can I download "system manager" ? I try netapp site but it only points me to KBA documentation and I can't find any download there. Any help appreciated, thanks.
I guess this would be more beneficial if the organization is large enough that storage people a total different group and have no say in AD users. I would prefer managing quotas using AD, as well, that is if I can manage both environments in my work setting.
Hoping someone can help. Source filer: FAS2552; verrsion NetApp Release 8.2.2RC2 7-Mode Destination filer: FAS2554; NetApp Release 8.2.2RC2 7-Mode In Data OnTap 7-mode, I'm trying to create SnapVaults of an existing FlexVol volume on source filer to separate destination filer. The source FlexVol just holds a single LUN which itself stores a single VMFS datastore. The volume wasn't created with a qtree so the data doesn't sit inside one. Some sources on the Internet say a qtree is required on the source volume in order to create SnapVaults of it but I'm not sure this is the case. I'm using the SnapVault Relationship Create Wizard in OnCommand System Manager 3.1.2 to create the snapvault relationship. If I try to create the SnapVault relationship by selecting the source volume itself, I receive warning message "Are you sure you want to backup volume to a qtree... the resulting volume to qtree SnapVault relationship will not be importable by OnCommand Unified Manager" (full warning message shown in attached image). Does this mean I won't be able to restore from the SnapVaults without the source volume having a qtree? If not, is it possible for me to add a qtree to the source volume without destroying data and how can I get that data to "sit inside" that qtree (if that's required)? If so, I'm hoping someone can advise me on how I can do this. Instead of selecting the source volume in the wizard, I've also got the option of selecting a "Non Qtree" sub entry (also shown in attached image file) and I don't receive a warning message when selecting that. Unfortunately I don't have any existing SnapVault relationships I can check against. Not sure if it is relevant... the source FlexVol volume has hourly and daily snapshots scheduled by the VSC vCenter plugin and these are snap-mirrored to the destination filer and work fine.We don't need weekly snapshots/snapmirrors but do need to generate weekly SnapVaults of the FlexVol and have these stored only on the destination filer. The VSC plugin cannot be used used for this as we are not running Clustered Data ONTAP 8.2 or higher. This is why I'm trying to configure the SnapVaults in OnCommand System Manager. Thanks in advance.
Hello Sir, Could you please send me the complete video to configure netapp storage FAS2620 Model and Disk Shelve is DS460C SAS Drive. Like How to Configure Aggregation , Volumes , LUNs.
Are you using a virtual lab for this or a physical one? If it's a virtual lab, how do you add the physical disks? Thanks for the video and your answer (if any)
Excellent Video. But I would prefer Freenas over Netapp. Netapp doesn't justify its cost and Freenas offers everything free. Recent freenas 11.2 offers excellent gui. We are using in corporate environment for last 3 years and no issues. Our setup consist of 36 TB Usable with zraid-2, SSD for caching, metadata. Great performance. Netapp is not as good as Freenas. Period.
Probably one of the best IT tutorial videos I have ever watched. simple and straight to the point

Hi Just looking to know if you have a copy of Storevault manager for the S300 as i cant seem to find it anywahere :)
You can create Quotas on the AD side as well. I would not use Qtree and let the Windows Admin manage the quotas
I guess this would be more beneficial if the organization is large enough that storage people a total different group and have no say in AD users. I would prefer managing quotas using AD, as well, that is if I can manage both environments in my work setting.
one of the best!
excellent video!
How can I get this management software?
Anyone can explain the netapp 7 mode domain controllers disconnected, even after reset also not connecting
Hoping someone can help.

That was very good however I couldn't find the part I expected which was an explanation of the Snapshot schedule... Is there another video?
