I watched this m/v a million times but it is only after watching Kpop Star 1 that I recognize them. Wow even after watching WIN i didn't even though I saw Park JaeHyung and Lee SeungHoon on it. Now watching it, brings me so much memories~
Great song, grossly under-promoted. Instead of debuting more groups, focus more on the talent you already have. 15& and Baek Ah Yeon could've had the same success Ailee and Lee Hi had if they'd been promoted better.
Actually, Lee Hi got very little promotion prior to 1234 becoming a big hit. YG stepped things up only after 1234 turned out to be a big hit and a lot of the things that people think of as "promotion" were just the inevitable results of 1234 being at the top of the charts for 25 consecutive days. In fact, Lee Hi's fans were complaining because she was nowhere to be seen in the months prior to 1234's release. Ji Min was doing yogurt commercials and public service announcement commercials for the government and appearing in public much more than Lee Hi was. (And, weirdly, some "antis" even tried to use that situation as "proof" that Lee Hi was not popular and would not be successful.) The pre-1234 promotion for Hi was pretty much just a square box put up on the YG website with text (no pictures in it) that announced the upcoming release and then, just a few days before the release, YG flew some big 1,2,3,4 balloons over the YG building. That was just about all there was and the press releases/news articles just before the debut release were no more extensive than what you would see for any other standard debut. Kang Seung Yoon (another YG solo artist who debuted last year) got at least the same amount of promotion before his debut. And if you look at how much promotion is going on for the new YG boy group, "Winner", which hasn't even debuted yet, there is no comparison. Winner has had almost nonstop promotion for nearly a year, including a weekly TV show produced to focus solely on them for more than 8 months (first focusing on the competition between A team and B team and then a couple of months focusing on only A team after they won), and youtube is full of Winner videos. I think both 15& and Lee Hi are great and I wish them both much success. Ji Min and Yerin are obviously very good singers and they're off to a good start -- especially when you consider how young they are. I just wanted to set the record straight because a lot of people just assume that Lee Hi somehow got some amazingly better promotion at the time that 1234 was released. To be historically accurate, that simply was not the case. For most, it's just an honest mistake. But there are some people who really seem to have a hard time giving any credit to Lee Hi, so they're always trying to make it sound like she's just lucky or benefitted from a huge amount of promotional effort by YG (so not the case).
Yep. But even though they haven't had a huge hit yet, they seem to have a steady and stable popularity, which should (hopefully) be enough to keep them in business for years to come. In Korea, you can hear their songs being played in small shops all over the place.
How can i notice this now?? The song is really fun and nice! I just cant understand why they are not so famous in korea. And jyp should give more effort to promote them.
