It’s so nice to see your genuine happiness and excitement , your videos always raise a smile. The world needs more young people like you 😁😁. Credit to mum as well for raising such a lovely daughter😁.
Thanks Kevin I have the best mum in the world 😍😍😍😍
As someone who grew up with these locomotives & saw, photographed & rode in trains hauled by them all over the country in my youth,it is refeshing to see someone young so enthusiastic about them. In my opinion they were man’s greatest invention, using the basics of nature, earth, fire, water & air.
@@alantunbridge8919 I agree 😊
Between the Princess and Steam you are turning out some great stuff!
Thank You 😊
British India line looks in good shape. Enthusiastic young lady. Good to see.
Thanks Roy 😊
I relly love steam trains ! Than you Matilda for a lovely video! 😘😘👍👍
@@AndersEricsson-o9e Thank You for watching 😊
I’ve been to Ribblehead a lot of times but not lucky enough to see a steam train. Your enthusiasm for steam trains is amazing.
Thank You 😊
Hi, again, faraway Matilda--It's not "Thank you for watching," -- and being splashed by your enthusiasm and enjoyment...it's really us saying, "Thank you for going to the trouble of making this video for us on the other side of the world." (NZ)
....just noticing during your drive to Ribblehead,,, the stone walls,,where i grew up in Dunedin, there are miles and miles of drystone walls on land outside what is now the city... built by the early Scottish settlers who first arrived in 1848.
Interesting info Jean, but defo thanks for watching, I love making the vids 😍😊
its great to see girlsa taking an interst in Steam trains. they are the next generation who will carry on our love of steam. i love her enthusiasm and i would like to put a bet on that she wont end up firing a loco on one of our preserved line
Thanks for watching 😊
It’s so good to see not just a young person but a young lady who enjoys trains and locos xx
Thanks and thanks for watching 😊
its so nice to see and young person (and a girl) interested in our hobby. You clearly love what you and a break from the mould. Keep it up and don't let anyone ever put you down (said from experience)
They do put me down and they can do one, they’ll get told lol I’m lovely if you’re lovely to me but I won’t put up with the negativity and bullying life’s to short.😍😊

Yes definately
what a breath of fresh air you are.Keep presenting interesting video's.
Thanks James and thanks for watching 👍😊
God bless all those that made it possible for us to have so many steam locomotives brought back from scrap today. When I was a kid, I think there were only a few Bulleid Pacifics in restored condition.. now there are over 20!
Yes imagine if they had got away with scrapping them 😱
@@matildariverwaldennews Thank God they didn't!
@@Hard-Boiled-Bollock yes defo 😊👍😊
'Peter Pan' is 58 years old restored in original livery. Great video!

ah what a beautiful looker she is always love a merchant navy class and i absolutely love how the old class 86s looked in old BR blue.

Well good morning young matilda and of course mum, it's so good a young lady like you loves classic car's and trains there's something magical about steam trains 😂

@@kevinhaigh3962 Thanks for that info Kevin I’ll have a look 😊👍
Fun movie clips. Shiny trains beautiful scenery and you can smell the coal! Perfect. Just as much fun as being on the train. Just different. Fun driving too.
That’s what my mum said on the vid about the smell, it was wierd cos it sounded different when we played the recording back 🤔 that’s why we put the words up, but she said it smelt awesome
@@matildariverwaldennewsIt's true and why we love our old cars. The leather hot oil I am sure my wooden dash has its own atmosphere. And a steam train is just raw power. Cheers
@@rosewood1 😍👍
I remember when it was a rusting hulk on the Mid-Hants Railway back in the early 1980's. What a transformation.
😊
21C1 Channel Packet was built with the air-smoothed casings in 1941 and the second prototype 21C2 Union Castle was built on the same year as 21C1 Channel Packet

Lovely panned shot at 6:00 mins very well done ! 👍
I was lucky enough to be on it, in the second coach, Victoria.😄

It's like a Hornby Train Set from the seventies! 1:1 scale . Love those wheels on the Clan Line.

Another GREAT VIDEO of Times so many of us look back on with wonderful memories thank you Matilda
Thanks George glad you enjoyed the vid 😊
What a beautiful piece of machinery, it looks amazing in green and black ❤
I love British India Line probably my favourite 🤗
stunning and marvelous
Thanks 😊👍😊
My favorite Merchant Navy locomotives are 21C1 Channel Packet and 21C2 Union Castle which are the two prototypes that were built by Bulleid. Also my second favorite Merchant Navy locomotives are 35003 Royal Mail and 35004 Cunard White Star. My third favorite Merchant Navy locomotives are 35012 United States Lines, 21C14 Nederland Line, 35015 Rotterdam Lloyd, 21C20 Bibby Line, 35021 New Zealand Line, 35023 Holland Afrika Line, 35024 East Asiatic Company, 35026 Lamport and Holt Line and 35030 Elder Dempster Lines.
😊
35020 Bibby Line fractured its crank axle while approaching Crewkerne Station at speed which was trying to break Mallard’s speed record and it led to all of the Merchant Navy locomotives being withdrawn from service and being rebuilt with the air smoothed casings being removed.
😊
A good "cop" thanks for sharing, well done you two✌️💜😊
Loving the enthusiasm ladies💜✌️👍😊
You'll have to do it in the Vanden Plas next time😉👍✌️💜
The CWR (Continuous Welded Rail) does make a good sound over distance, especially when hot, gives you a heads up of what's coming - unless one is trackside and extreme care must be taken Eg with light running Tampers etc. as they hardly make a sound (depending on wind direction, blind curves etc - one scared the hell out of me, years back, when I was look out, with limited room trackside, it snuck up on me around a blind curve).
Yes we had not noticed the sound before, yes we will defo be doing vids in Princess it’s just mum building confidence on her reliability, although there have been no cause for concerns, she’ll only drive at the mo if Billy is in the vicinity 😂

Hi Matilda, love your enthusiasm for British India Line! Her and her 'sister' locos are my favourite too. I would 'cop' them (underline the numbers) when I was a train-spotting youngster just like you. I saw British India Line many years ago, when she was a working engine on the Southern region. All the best and thanks for the video. I'll watch some more...

Great Video! Steam Engines are fantastic aren't they??
I have been lucky enough to ride with the driver and fireman on a engine in Loughborough with my Son & Uncle.
An absolutely unforgettable experience!
I would love to do that 😊
@@matildariverwaldennews You can do what is called a "Footplate Experience" at most historical lines.
You could crowdfund one?
Make great content.
@@charliejackman2953 What is that?
@@matildariverwaldennews It's where you ride with the fireman and driver in the steam engine & get to have a go on the controls etc.
They cost anything from around £250 for a couple of hours upwards. Depends where you go.
In 1964, the two Merchant Navy locomotives were withdrawn from service: the second prototype 35002 Union Castle and 35015 Rotterdam Lloyd.
Ah, the smell. It only seems that that smell exists with steam locomotives. I wonder if it is in part the sulphur content of the coal and its mix with the steam? First time watching your videos - eminently refreshing approach alongside documentary style filming. Really watchable.😀
That’s brilliant. So glad you enjoyed the vid 😊👍😊
Yes I watched the video of the breakdown, she lost a lot of water when a pipe from tender to locomotive leaked. This time she looks a lot better and you got some nice video.
Thank You 🤗
New Thomas the tank engine narrator I think, 👌👋
😊
Nice video.

I love any trains....but really love STEAM!!! If you ever get to America and want to see THREE tourist railroads within an hours drive look up Cass Scenic RR, Durbin Rocket and Mountain Rail at Elkins. If you like steam....LOTS of it here.
I don't want to go outside the USA much.....but the area you showed I may!!! THX
That sounds good, thanks for watching 😊
Matilda, if you haven't yet ,check out francis bourgeois trainspotting, he's into old trains and has a very amusing dry sense of humour which I'm sure you would find hilarious Peter
