It's interesting to me that two of these ideas showed up in the 90s cartoon despite there being no creative ties. The Techno-Sentient is pretty similar in concept to Berserk and they do a "Fantastic Voyage" inside Godzilla in another episode.
The Heisei Godzilla films easily had some of the craziest ideas for Godzilla films, even the film that made it through like Godzilla vs King ghidorah and SpaceGodzilla are pretty out there compared to most Godzilla films. Other ideas such as Ghost Ghidorah and SpaceGodzilla being a Ghidorah also made it to the Millenium era which is pretty interesting. If the Heisei Godzilla film creators didn't have limitations such as budget and needing the fit a person inside the suit I think they could have done a lot more with the films. I disagree about the films not being creative, but otherwise great job explaining the scrapped stories.
It's crazy how little Godzilla anime there is. Imagine a 90s OVA with the king of the monsters. Would have been pretty cool, allowing them to present a more convincing scenario than suitwork and their limited CGI ever could (I still love the suits, but they're quite limiting in what they can portray). Leave it to Toho to restrict creative freedom and opt for the path of least resistance (i.e. recognizable brand) in order to make as much money as possible.
I think that Anime appeals to a much smaller audience and it's fair to say the Heisei Godzilla films, ideas, and other aspects of the films wouldn't have been seen again in the franchise or used in things outside the films as well. But I think considering they limited a lot of things due to budget, production time, and restrictions I think they did very well.
Great Video! I myself don't see the Heisei films the way I used to as well. If anything I think they aged poorly as time goes by. I do agree that the production of the heisei films are the most interesting when it comes to the history of concept to films. You should also look up "Godzilla vs Red Moon" as well.
Hi there TitanGoji!. Love your video's and I hope you get more likes and subs. About King Kong vs. Ebirah. I've been writing my own version of Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster. It's titled, Godzilla, Ebirah, King Kong: Operation Robinson Crusoe (ゴジラ·エビラ·キングコングロビンソン·クルーソー作 ). Not only does it have King Kong, but Godzilla as well. I removed Mothra from the story because I felt she was shoe horned in. The characters are different to. I built Yoshimura as this Lupin the Third type of thief with two henchmen. Ryota, the young boy who is trying to find his be brother in the film, I changed his story into wanting to become a thief like Yoshimura. I also add some story elements from King Kong Escapes, such as the character of Dr. Hu. In my story he is the leader of the Red Bamboo and is using King Kong to mine for Element X to sell to other countries that are supporting the Red Bamboo. What do you think? Do you like these story ideas? Do you think this will make Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster better? Do you have any idea's? If so, replay please.
