    Go to any metal workshop and give them a good description of what you want. It'll cost around $0 for scrap metal and $20 tops for labour. Guitar relicing can be done by a luthier, usually costing around $100-200.

    James has actually started using his Gibsons onstage again...as well as some other guitars from Ken Lawrence (Les Paul-style and doubleneck Explorer), Trussart (LP-style and Explorer-style), and Zemaitis.

    ESP upgraded the model by increasing the size of the single-cut to make the upper frets easier to reach.

    @IvanMewtwo No ESP was the one that did a "Replica" of his original 1973 Gibson Custom Iron Cross. The Cross at the 12th fret was added then. -___-

    @VintageSalesInc exactly, real Gibson Les Pauls have 2 screws on the tross rod cover, unless its an epiphone or a chineese copy.

    @ArchieIsted i'm pretty sure its the cost of the material and labor work, no matter how simple it may be to make its still custom and takes time to make. that's my guess

  • @Erador
    @Erador 14 років тому

    @2paktolife No no... The original Iron Cross that James Hetfield has used for the majority of the time it's been around is a Gibson Les Paul Custom. It wasn't until recently that ESP decided to create a signature model just like it.

    @DasBlood the fact that Clapton played on it. If they gave me a 59 I'd wear it out just like an Epiphone with no remorse. If it breaks, it gets fixed. I don't cry because the headstock gets dented in or there's nail marks in the fret board. It's only rock n roll, and you know you like it. PS, badass LP and great playing. Keep wearing it out.

    The thing that confused me was the binding on the neck looking so new, but all the other binding is aged. Also the frets go over the binding on the neck. WHich Les Paul Customs don't. The binding goes up to the fret.

  • @sam8404
    @sam8404 14 років тому

    To everyone who says ESP and he should have used an ESP instead because "james uses an ESP"
    I do Agree that ESP is Superior to Gibson in many ways, but James hetfields Original Iron Cross Guitar is an Gibson..
    its only the signature series of this gutar thats an ESP.

    NIce Job! I only saw some cheep Guitars with this adaptation . But with a 2800 Euro Instrument you seem to have not only money But also the courage to do so. I don't like the Idea of Buying an expensive guitar to either "damage" it or buy a more expensive guitar, which looks already played over decades. But I know the original and I like how you transfered your own Iron Cross!
